Big Up Britwell was full of energy. From cooking and VR to Djing in the studio. Even sports too. Football, basketball, gymnastics, pool, table tennis and more.

Big up everyone who came through! 💛

Special thanks to @athena.angels

Sports, cooking, music, gaming and more! Big Up Britwell was an amazing day packed with fun activities, learning and loads of variety.

Young people learnt how to make Shawarma with Chef @specialkm2004 , explored virtual reality with @salthillvr and even spun some tracks in the studio.

There was plenty of action too. From gymnastics, football, basketball, pool, table tennis and more!

We also had a focus group where young people shared their thoughts and feedback about what matters to them. The event was made possible by @getberkshireactive who are leading a project to make Britwell a healthier and more active place.

Big thanks to everyone who came through and made the day one to remember! Special thanks to @athena.angels @berksandbucksfa and TXL and our amazing hosts @britwellyouthcommunityproject 💛 by @salthillvr

Big Up Britwell!!

This half term was action packed! From the Big Up Britwell event on Tuesday with @tao_youth and @salthillvr to our Halloween party on Thursday, our young people spent the time together taking part in football, cooking, VR and much more!

Thank you to @tao_youth for hosting Tuesday’s event at BYCP and for bringing many of your young people to Britwell for the first time ❤️.

🧿🐧🐳 There’s a free VR experience on in Slough this week, put on by @viva.slough and @salthillvr, so we checked it out and it was good!

It was in 2 parts, first we were virtually travelling through Antarctica on a boat and seeing penguins close up. The second part had us walking around a virtual exhibition and learning about wildlife which live there. It was really interesting, we never knew how many different types of penguins and birds live in Antarctica 😲

Afterwards we did some colouring and played a penguin game, altogether the whole experience was about half-an-hour. We enjoyed that, and so good that it was free!

👉 This experience is on until 4th Sept at the Viva Slough studios on Slough High Street. All the slots have been booked but walk-ins may be available. I did share on stories when it was announced on @sloughexplorer, make sure you follow our pages so you don’t miss out next time 😉 EDIT: There are more free tickets available online now

Do your kids like VR? And are they interested in Antarctica, what’s their favourite animal?

🌊✨ We’ve been cooking up something special with the Salt Hill Park community and it’s time to share it!

From poetry and drawing to virtual reality, local residents explored the stream and its nature to design something amazing…

A mural called “Water Lives In Here” 💧

Thanks so much to @salthillvr team for creating a 3D model of the tunnel, letting everyone paint it virtually and helping us bring the final design to life on the real walls.

Mural launch coming up and you’re invited! 19th July 12:30pm at Salt Hill Park Tunnel. Comment with the word “Water” if you want more of this initiatives in slough.
