After four years, it’s time to say goodbye to Camp Texas. Coming to camp as a camper in the summer of 2022 has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. That summer, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, and in the process discovered the person I was truly meant to be coming into college. After my camp experience, coming back as a counselor was a no-brainer. Getting to pay my camp experience forward to so many other students has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. Camp has taught me how to be a better leader, how to listen and learn from the perspectives of others, and above all, how to live my life with confidence.

To GROUP 16 💜: thank you for being the best last camp group I could have ever asked for. Y’all’s passion and energy for camp was infectious, and I wish you all the best of luck as y’all begin your journey’s in college.

To this year’s exec board, thank you for entrusting me to be one of this year’s flame bearers. Getting to share my college journey was incredibly special and is undoubtedly one of my favorite camp memories.

To ALL of my former CO’s, counselors, and small groups: thank you for your energy and love during my time in camp. I have NOT forgotten y’all! (see last two slides!)

And of course, to Camp Texas: thank you for the best four summers ever. I have learned so many valuable lessons from camp, and have changed for the better because of it. Although my time in camp is done, I know that camp will continue to thrive for years to come and change the lives of so many longhorns like it did for me. Thank you camp 🧡🤘

I am super excited to announce that I have been accepted into the 2026 ride team for Texas 4000 for Cancer! In the summer of 2026 I will be biking all the way from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska over the course of 70 days in the world’s longest annual charity bike ride! Through hope, knowledge, and charity, I alongside my teammates hope to grow into strong leaders who engage with local communities to empower and support those who have been affected by cancer.

If you would like to support our mission, please consider donating! Your financial support is invaluable, and will go towards cancer research grants and cancer support services.
To donate, you can follow the link at the bottom of this post, which will also be linked in the bio of my ride account, @saylor2alaska !

If you want to follow along my journey, donate, or both, follow my ride account, @saylor2alaska ! I will be posting periodic updates over the next year as I train, as well as during the summer ride!

To Alaska and back! 🚴‍♂️🚵‍♂️
