Wow, what an incredible athmosphere at the DYNAFIT Speed Factory tonight. A huge crowd showed up to unleash 130 brave souls into the night. 100K & 5000+ verts are calling.

A few days before the first SALTY Field Journal arrived at your doors, it looked like this.

Paper moving through machines. Ink finding its place. Pages becoming pages. The strange, satisfying moment when months of work stop being a file on a screen and start becoming something you can actually hold.

We spent a long time building this thing: writing, editing, designing, questioning, cutting, asking smarter people better questions, then trying to turn all of it into a Field Guide that feels useful, honest and worth keeping.

There is something beautiful about seeing trailrunning pressed onto paper.

Tomorrow, we publish the thing we have been quietly losing our minds over.

The first ever SALTY Field Journal.

A printed object about trailrunning, written for people who suspect this sport is not just about splits, shoes and looking briefly employable in a finish-line photo.

We looked at the body. The kit. The training. The terrain. The culture. The industry. The strange little truths that appear somewhere between a long climb, a bad stomach decision and the third time someone says “mandatory equipment” like it personally offended them.

It is paper. It has weight. It does not refresh. It will not vibrate in your hand unless you are having a caffeine issue.

We thought the first OTF100 start would be good. We didn’t expect this.

What happened at the DYNAFIT Speed Factory on Friday night felt bigger than the plan, bigger than the schedule, bigger than the bit on paper that simply said “start, 21:00”. Hundreds of people showed up, made noise, sent the field into the dark and turned the first OTF100 into something we will remember for a long time.

To every runner who chose OTF: thank you. You can race somewhere else every weekend. You have options. You picked @oberaudorftrailfestival, our trails and this October weekend. We never take that for granted.

To our “volunteers”: the word stopped fitting a while ago. Yes, you work your arses off. But more importantly, you create the thing that makes a SALTY event feel like a SALTY event. We are still not entirely sure what that thing is. Friendship. Passion. Trust. Stupidity in useful doses. The ability to solve a problem while laughing at it. Whatever it is, this group is special. We would not want to do this with anyone else.

To DYNAFIT and the crew: thank you for giving us the chance to make that OTF100 start special, and for showing up all weekend with people, energy and work, not just branding.

To everyone who cheered, crewed, waited, drove, filled cups, cooked, cleaned, carried, parked, rescued, built and stayed late: you made the weekend what it was.

To @oberaudorf_de, the municipality, police, mountain rescue, fire brigade, @adventure_bavaria and every hut and local partner: thank you for trusting this idea and helping us make it real.

At SALTY, we only want to build things we would genuinely want to be part of ourselves. We believe passion is difficult to fake and even harder to hide.

OTF 2026 proved that again.

Thank you for being in it.

September 30 to October 3, 2027.

Let’s do it again.

SIGNAL FIRST, SENSE LATER.

Yesterday, THE WILD SIGNAL by @saltytrailrunning and @salomon.dach became real.

It started at the HUB with coffee, booklets, slightly nervous faces and that very specific energy of people pretending they had made sound decisions.

No fixed course. No script. Four checkpoints. One final box. Fifty-ish humans drawing their own lines through the Chiemgau Alps, chasing stamps, friends, Kaiserschmarrn, views, shortcuts, bad ideas and the quiet little feeling that this might actually be the point.

Some lines were clean. Some were ambitious. Some looked like a map had sneezed. All of them counted.

And then you came back. Dusty, cooked, smiling, carrying stories that already sounded better than the route choices that created them.

That is what made the day special. Not one fastest line. Not one correct way. But everyone arriving with their own version of the signal, and somehow making it feel like one shared thing.

Huge love to the checkpoint crews for holding the day together out there.

Big thanks to Michi from @baeckerei_brotzeit for breakfast and the pizza that rebuilt civilisation.

The signal is quiet now.

The stories are not.

We’ll do this again 🌀

OTF100 WOMEN’S WINNER: @mellx.lenz

3rd overall.
1st woman.

104 km and 5,000 m+ later, Melanie crossed the line in 13:06:27.

Not just a win in the women’s race. A podium finish across the entire field.

That deserves more than a polite “strong race”.

Massive performance, Melanie.
