We don’t believe you have to give up your life to see the changes in yourself you want.

Stronger is the best place to start. Everything else tends to flow from there.

Nehal never had a desire to completely transform her life. But that’s the nature of becoming strong.

It just happens.

You rediscover the excitement of moving your body.
You build trust in what you’re capable of.
And you develop a confidence that reaches far beyond the gym.

At Salus, we love building strong people, strong women, and stronger mums.

It’s what we do best. taken in Salus by @saluslondon

You’ve been told carbs are the enemy for so long that you train on empty and call it discipline.

Then you wonder why the bar feels heavier at rep three, and why you leave the gym flat instead of fired up.

That’s not a weakness in you. Your muscles run on glycogen, and glycogen comes from carbs.

Train without them and you’re asking your body to lift on fumes, then blaming yourself when it can’t.

An hour or two before you lift, eat something simple. Rice, oats, a banana, toast. Nothing clever just remember to compliment it with 25g of protein. Then go and use it. by @saluslondon

Training with weights will change your life.

But most group personal training studios have both men and women following exactly the same programme from a board or a screen.

Most of my girls want to build stronger legs and bigger glutes without adding lots of size to their upper body.

At Salus, your programme is built around you.

As far as I know, we’re the only studio in London where every member follows their own bespoke strength programme while training together as a community.

So if you want bigger pecs and massive arms, you can.

If you want stronger glutes, better posture, more confidence, or simply to feel healthier, you can do that too.

Your body. Your goals. Your personalised programme.

Real personal training, combined with the support of me, my team, and a collective of incredible women who are all working towards becoming stronger.

Come and join us for a trial and see just how different we are from traditional group training facilities. taken in Salus by @saluslondon

How to get a heavy dumbbell into position for a pullover 💪🏻

As you get stronger, lifting heavier weights becomes part of the process. But getting a heavy dumbbell into the starting position can become a challenge in itself, especially when you don’t have a spotter.

I love the dumbbell pullover, and learning how to set up safely is just as important as performing the exercise correctly.

Here’s my preferred technique:

1. Keep both feet firmly planted on the floor.
2. Support your upper back and head on the bench, keeping your neck relaxed.
3. Rest the dumbbell securely on your thigh, close to your knee.
4. Use a controlled kick from your knee to help guide the dumbbell up and into position above your chest, keeping both hands firmly around the handle.
5. Stabilise the weight before starting the movement.

The goal is to get the dumbbell into position without struggling, twisting or putting unnecessary strain on your shoulders.

Getting stronger isn’t just about lifting heavier. It’s about learning to handle heavier weights safely, too.

Eat the Cake!

One of the things I am proud to teach as a coach at Salus is balance. A lot of people reach for extremes only to failed failure on repeat.

It's important to realise there are no "fat gaining" foods - when everything is in moderation you can still enjoy the fruits of life.

But in this case the fruit is a nice big slice of Cake. by @saluslondon

How many days should you train at Salus for the best results?

I watch other gyms hand out unlimited passes, and I’m shocked.

Of course, it’s a marketing tool designed to create more perceived value.

But you want results, right? And we want that for you too!

Training should be about one thing only…

Creating the right stress and stimulus to provoke adaptation and change.

Rest is key to allowing your body to adapt.

3 days a week is the perfect amount.

Your body remains in a heightened state of muscle protein synthesis following resistance training, meaning the work continues long after you’ve left the gym.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.

Two days of rest in a row at some point during the week.

Add a little light cardio on top, some yoga twice a week, and you have a killer recipe for changing the way your body looks, feels and performs.

That’s why our Just Train Trial Week is exactly three sessions.

Most people start lifting to look better. They stay at it for what it does to their mind.

In the biggest study of its kind, 1.2 million adults, people who exercised reported 43% fewer poor mental health days a month. The sweet spot was 45 minutes, three to five times a week. More wasn't better.

Randomised trials show resistance training significantly reduces depressive symptoms in adults, and the effect turned up whether or not people actually got stronger.

Turning up is the dose.

Getting Strong is the icing on the cake.

That's why we recommend...

Just 3 x Strength sessions at Salus

And 2 x 30 minutes cardio

This is an optimal dose for both, mood, strength and fatloss.

It’s not just about experience.

It’s about genuine care and attention.

It’s about being invested in the people who choose to invest in you.

Knowing their goals. Noticing the small things. Caring about their progress beyond the hour they spend with you.

This isn’t just a job.

It’s a lifelong passion for helping people become stronger, healthier, and more capable humans.

And after all these years, that still means everything to me. taken in Salus by @saluslondon
