In Primary School there was a tub of dictionaries, kids would flex and push to get the ‘good’ dictionaries first, essentially the dictionaries with covers, that was all. This panic to have a dictionary with a cover never made sense to me-this aggressive dance. Musical chairs, pass the parcel. Games and behaviours ingrained in kids. I watch adults deboarding planes. Musical chairs man. It’s all fucking musical chairs. by @salvage.operation

Why don’t you paint happy pictures? Hmmmm, the mother of my children pretends to have cancer so the kids think I’m insensitive for not caring 😂👌🏽. That’s one of many reasons and the probably the lightest one. Paternal Enmeshment with narcissistic underpinnings my therapist said, a lot of single mothers do it. by @salvage.operation

If we are our experiences we are full of contradiction, mixed messages and developmental paradoxes- what we felt at 16 hits different to what we feel at 26 but it’s all housed in the same mind. Smells from childhood can trigger childlike feeling. We are a walking contradiction at times, swimming in panicked circles like a bug caught in Fanta on a summers day picnic. by @salvage.operation

Integrate the shadow. I know I can be a prick, I know I use to be a monkey. Knowing this makes me pretty well, grounded. It’s the ones who pretend to be good during school pick up, on Facebook, at work who often do the worst shit behind closed doors. They won’t admit it to themselves, they can’t handle it. Usually the ones who avoid drugs, unconsciously they know they are scared of what they might encounter. They can’t handle the unconscious. They can’t handle themselves. So here’s a 20x20 water colour and oil painting paying homage to that little devil inside. by @salvage.operation
