Introducing my latest lego set: the time travel delorean from back to the future. This set came with 357 pieces including lego figurines of marty mcfly and doc Brown. There are two versions you can make of this car: one version with the hook that was used during the clock tower lightning strike, and other one where it looks like the car is hovering. I went with the first option with the hook.

It's like marty mcfly said to his dad George: "if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything." by @sam.lathem

Days off from work call for a little arts and crafts. Got this little Christmas train set at an event in Paducah, TX, last week. I tried my best decorating it but I think it looks magnificent!

Lately I've been thinking about the movie the nightmare before Christmas. The first time I watched this movie was during Christmas break my freshman year of college. My grandma got me shoes with Jack skelington on them as one of my gifts and those inspired me to watch the movie. When I watched it the first time I thought it was amazing. This was the first ever movie to be made with stop-motion, coming out two years before toy story. The way of how this is a movie you can watch around Halloween and Christmas is spectacular.

This movie only made $50 million when it was released in theaters in 1993, but overtime it became a cult classic. If you like Halloween or Christmas or both, then this is your movie. by @sam.lathem

Happy National Son's day to Wilson Woody Gump Lathem!

Wilson loves Jesus, lady chaps basketball, cars 2 (he's weird), all of Alpha chi's follies shows from the past 4 years, and the onion that @berkley_allen1 made of him during social club week. It was so beautiful that it almost made me cry. by @sam.lathem

At a 4th of july celebration last year in childress, I saw a stand that was selling homemade Tumblr cups and cartons. There were neat ones that I liked, but I decided to get this monsters inc one. The person that was at the stand said I could use it for food and drinks, but being a movie guy, I decided to use it for something better: movie tickets!

Today I counted and I have 21 tickets in this carton filled with tickets of movies I've seen over the past 2 years, with the exception of one from when I saw toy story 3 16 years ago. I hope to keep filling up this movie ticket carton for years to come.

I like to thank @drewphillipjordan and @kelseadron for the inspiration for this! by @sam.lathem

Cars 20th anniversary review and weekend recap:

First off, seeing cars on the big screen again was awesome! From the start to the end, it was like 2006 all over again. I put my hand up in the air when "life is a highway" by rascal Flatts came on. It was like a religious experience! I will admit, I did get emotional at the end of the movie when lightning mcqueen help Mr. The king finish the race. The story of life is about the journey and not the destination fits so well with this movie. This goes to show that pixar films are for both kids and adults. Adults can see and learn things from these films that kids may not understand. Cats is now my favorite pixar movie. Kachow!

Second, a weekend with the family was just what I needed. We played games, ate good food, played Mario kart with my cousin, got some pins and a new marvel item, and had LOTS of good laughs. Don't forget to slow down and enjoy life. by @sam.lathem

This is a bitter sweet post. For almost 22 years the incredibles was my favorite pixar. I love the theme of teamwork in the movie and the animation was amazing for its time. It was the first pixar film to have humans as the main characters and brad bird was the great guy to direct this movie.

Things will be a changing this weekend as this will not be my favorite pixar film by this weekend. But, it will still be in my top 5 favorites from pixar.

I won't tell you what my new favorite will be, but here's a hint: KACHOW! by @sam.lathem

This summer, my home church did a Bible class series called "Finding God in the Toybox." In this class we watched clips from different pixar films each week and we would talk about how we saw God in those clips. When I heard about this class, I was excited that we were talking about Jesus and pixar movies, aka two of the greatest things in the world. We learned lots of great lessons in this class like overcoming fear with joy from monsters inc, good mentorship from the incredibles, getting over embarrassment from the short film boundin, and "THE CLAW" of community from toy story 3. In the last class of the series, we were encouraged to go find God in the toybox, and I think this week I had found God in the toybox.

While at work this week I helped load ice onto a trailer for a customer and I that this guy had toy story characters strapped down at the back of his trailer, and seeing that brought joy to my heart. It was a reminder that we all need to find God in the toybox in our lives. by @sam.lathem
