Float, fall, or fly?
I was born to float, almost fell, but was able to learn to fly🦋

3 years ago with some persuasion from an upperclassmen( @ethanstark18 ) I decided to join my schools weightlifting team, it was my first attempt at getting out of my comfort zone, i wasnt the most sociable or talkative person, but i wanted to do more, i didnt want to just exist, i wanted to do something, anything, soon after i fell in love with the sport so i trained, more than i ever did in my life, and not long after i had broken a school record, it was the first real accomplishment in my life and i felt ontop of the world, and then i got a medal at my first state meet, i couldnt have asked for more, the following two years afterwards i met so many amazing people who continue to motivate me to this day, i finally did it, i told everyone i would, and i did, i am finally a state champion🥇

Thank you to everyone who supported and cheered for me these years. It was in my mind all these years, every single person.

Thank you @schoes84, we did it, we said we would and we went out and did, thank you for believing in me, you're the best and most caring coach i could ask for, thank you for leading me towards gold and i cant wait to go win more in the future with you, love you coach🫶🏻.

And last but not least my #1 cheerleader, thank you, mother @shelley_m_gloster, thank you for the never ending support, thank you for getting up in the early morning and driving me to practice, thank you for coming to every last meet it means the world to me, thank you for being the greatest mother ever, i love you so much🫶🏻❤️🐧

Nationals 2026🌄

This one was special, this was something I needed to finally feel like myself once more. It may not have been the perfect meet, but I am happy with it, it showed that while this is my last junior Natty's that I still have so much more to learn and so much more to give.

After my injury I was so tired, I had worked myself to the bone with no results to show, I was broken in more ways than one.

The biggest difference this time around was that I had people to help me through it, @coachchips @coachjenn_jt and @schoes84 all helped me in more ways than just coaching and I'm so grateful for all of them for the support through it all.

Thank you to my friends and competitors who all gave me the pushes I needed to get onto that stage and under those lifts

Thank you to my amazing family who continues to support and cheer on my dreams endlessly, I love you all so much and I hope I was able to live up to your expectations🫶🐧

Now unfortunately I was unable to hit my goal of the b team standard and while it does burn a little I am still content, onto the next goal, I don't know what it will be just yet but I know it will be beyond the stars.

🚨🚨🚨TRAINING RECAP🚨🚨🚨

Best training block of my life, without a doubt, I've fought so hard for every last kilo on the bar.
Coming back to training starting in March I knew I had to approach it differently than I did with AOF, so I decided to build a base, I spent my entire first month of training doing endless amounts of volume, I did a 12,10, and 8rm on back squat and a 10,8, and 5rm on front squat combining each day with sets of pulls, something that I feared in the previous block due to pain.

Once I rejoined @jacksonvillestrength I knew I would be able to train much more seriously than at the unf rec well and I adjusted pretty well, pretty fast.
I relearned and adjusted techniques(one a little more significant) and it finally felt like I was back to who I used to be, that I could finally enjoy this sport that gave me so much.

The lifts:
130kg/286lbs cj, first clean and jerk pr since aof 2024
132kg/291lbs SPLIT jerk, the big question mark this block was how fast I could learn and apply split jerk, this gave me some confidence
131kg/288lbs cln, cleans were moving and yet I still can't hit a front squat pr for the life of me
92kg/202lbs pwr snatch
103kg/227lbs sn, I tried looking at Chad but I didn't have my glasses on sooooo
127kg/280lbs sn balance, at least my overhead is alright ig
126kg/277lbs pull + cln, sleeveless, years ago I did a 125kg clean sleeveless up until then I thought that was my best lift ever, this was the first sign that I could be better.
115kg/253lbs hang pwr cln
200kg/440lbs pwr cln, could've done more😼
118kg/260lbs cj, first time really trying split jerk

Nationals is next, I'm ready, I have no regrets, no matter the outcome I walk away knowing I did my best. Thank you to everyone who's supported me along the way, my family, my friends, my coaches, everyone, thank you, I will make sure to show you all who I truly am. by @sam5l6426

2025 Nationals🌄🌄🌄

What an amazing experience the whole way through meeting so many amazing and strong people.

I'm so happy and proud of all that I get to experience through this amazing sport.

I ended up going 4/6, 3/3 in the SN, 1/3 in CJ and this is my first snatch gold medal above the regional level as well as my first time going 3/3 in the snatch ending with a PR, while CJ didn't go as planned I still learnt a lot with it with both a PWR cln PR and cln PR and as for jerk next time you see me on the platform my PWR jerk will be perfection.
My attempts
SN, 94,98,101🥇
CJ 123,124,128🥈(again sorry @k.mima03 didn't mean to steal your thunder on the podium I was genuinely confused, love you brother🙏)
Total:225kg 94.1% of Jr USA b standard 🥇

Thank you to the coaches, @coachchips @lula_jt
@jacksonvillestrength , thank you for supporting and pushing me to this stage of this sport and @schoes84 thank you so much for coaching me and getting me ready to do what we needed to do I appreciate it more than any of you will ever know.
Lastly thank you to my amazing family who endlessly supports my dreams till the very end, I love you all and will only continue to fight and strive for what we deserve.

This is not over, this is the start of a new chapter in my story and I will continue to pursue my dreams in Daytona in December at NAOF

Until next time🫶🐧 by @sam5l6426

Before nationals training recap‼️‼️‼️
After states I ended up taking two weeks off, hammering recovery as hard as I could and to my surprise it seemed to have work. My first day back to training was may 12th and while I was training prior to states it really did feel like training rather it was something I dreaded but that changed once I got back to lifting.
As for lifts
100kg/220lbs SN
125kg/275lbs CJ
85kg/187lbs power float(I loved how easy it was)
Coming back to lifting my hands were constantly ripping and hurting so I got to have my fun with no hook grip lifts
111kg/245lbs no hook PWR clean
81kg/178lbs no hook PWR SN
88kg/194lbs SN hang double
A big focus was also my over reliance on sleeves, did pretty much everything besides Saturdays or lazy days without sleeves
133kg/292lbs fs
152kg/335lbs bs
118kg/260lbs PWR clean and push jerk, this one ment more to me than probably every other lift, I love push jerk as a fun alternative but it's what originally caused my back injury months ago and while I'd never want to go through it again it reminded me that with this journey I learnt more about myself than ever as well as strengthened myself in mind, soul, and body. As I look towards nationals and beyond I may not know what I'm capable of but what I do know is I'll never know unless I try so I'll continue striving towards that unknown with everything I have.
