Always a GREAT time at the Boston Salsa Festival! 💃🏽🔥

This year was extra special for me. For the first time, I brought Melaza Dance Studio to BSF and had the opportunity to perform on stage alongside some of our new dancers! ❤️

I also brought 10+ of my students, many of whom had NEVER experienced a Salsa Festival or Dance Congress before… and let me tell you — they are HUNGRY for more! 😂🔥 They’re already asking me, “When and where is the next congress?!”

I’ve (Mariel) been attending the Boston Salsa Festival since I was 18 years old, and all these years later, I can confidently say: BSF NEVER DISAPPOINTS! 🙌🏽

To the staff, volunteers, organizers, photographers, videographers, DJs, performers, instructors, and everyone behind the scenes — THANK YOU for everything you do and for creating such an incredible experience this past weekend. 🫶🏽

And thank you for welcoming and supporting Melaza Dance Studio. 💜 Seeing my students experience something that has been part of my own dance journey for so many years was truly special.

To all my students.. THANK YOU!

I will never get over my cute, excited lil' run up to Rose 🥹, one of my ever-talented dance teachers. I always get so nervous and giddy to dance with my female instructors haha.

I am so grateful to the women in my area who stepped up to run dance schools and create vibrant spaces for Latin dance. We have a bit of a smaller scene here, and without them, we would have nothing. And they don't just kind of offer something here and there when they can - they hold weekly classes, put on special events and socials, run teams, offer private lessons, and choreograph, among other things.

We are truly lucky to have their passion, dedication, and talent, and I thank them for all they've shared with and taught me ♡.

Special shout out also to my other teacher, Jessica Vaillancourt, at Eleganza. Adore them both so much ♡.
