Red Wave Indoor (|:AGAIN:|) [2026]

Was this season perfect? No. Was I a perfect drummer this season? No. Was I even a perfect person? Absolutely not.

Then did I fail?

This is a thought that’s been running through my mind throughout this season. In an activity in which member spend hundreds and hundreds of hours striving for achieving perfections of a 7-minute show while also juggling all the tasks of our daily lives, anything less then this level of perfection is seen as a failure, an idea that I’ve fallen into before.

However, I take a moment and look back at my past self, whether it’s from a month ago, start of the season, or even way back to last year, and I can see how much progress I’ve made through this time. Things that I struggled with last year that I’ve achieved at a much higher level. The things that caused me constant struggle in the past have been a breeze. My mindset grows slightly stronger and more mature each day.

It’s easy to focus on the moment and view each mistake that I make means that I failed, or that I am letting others down. But when looking at the bigger picture as career as a musician or at my life in general, I can see all that I have achieved and all of the growth I’ve made as a musician and an individual.

Was this season perfect? No. Was I a perfect drummer this season? No. Was I even a perfect person? Absolutely not.

Then did I fail? Absolutely not.

Thanks for the great season Red Wave 2026, love you and everyone that made this season as great as it was

Blue Devils B (Lethological) [2025]

Shoutout the snares @beforeyougotosleep_ @iker.estra @evaan_tuberaa @_lucas.dig @aidenhjang @jasonteeple07 @kenta.tonari @shawn_therealcosta @abhidestroysdrums (couldn’t tag them all)

As I look back onto my first DCI season, I don’t look back and remember all the hardships I faced of being far from home for the first time, practicing 12ish hours a day on the worst practice place I’ve even experienced, a crippling caffeine addiction, long commute every morning, the struggles of living out of a suitcase for about a month, being in a new drumline full of faces I’ve never seen before, or the fact that this was easily one of the hardest things I’ve done in my life

I remember all the friends I’ve made, the stupid bits we would repeat day after day, working hard every second I could at the wood chips and oasis and mars practice fields, learning from the amazing staff that shaped my drumming career throughout the years, the beautiful sunsets and nights at mars, seeing my family and family at the shows for the first time in weeks and months, the family I was able to spend the whole summer with and can’t wait to see again, and I miss it more and more every single day

Middle school me would be proud

Overall, I don’t know what my future will hold, but I’m glad that this summer was part of my past and help shape me who I am in the present taken in Mars by @sam_aguirre21

Red Wave Indoor (Balance Of Self) [2025]

It’s been a while since the season concluded, and I’ve been putting off this post cause I didn’t know how to put this season into a caption, but I think I managed to finally find a way to do so that reflects me (also I typed this all out and then accidentally deleted it)

If you are reading this, I want to thank you, because whether you knew it or not, intentional or unintentional, you made me into the person I am today

People supported me when I didn’t believe I myself as a musician or person, people doubted and looked down on me which only encouraged me to prove them wrong, people have been role models for me and encouraged me to work crazy hard so I can one day be as good as they are, people look up to me which encouraged me to be the a role model like the ones I’ve looked up to years, people provided a friendly environment which made dedicated every second of my weekend and much more to this show feel like a dream rather then a chore as some may believe, people took photos of me performing which encouraged me to show my all to get that actions shot where I can look at it and think to myself “I did it, I’m doing the thing I’ve wanted to do for years”, people supported me financially which helped me afford this crazy expensive dream of mine, people have showed me that this dream of mine is achievable and not just a dream out of my grasp, people have supported me academically which made doing both this time consuming activity and school achievable, people being able to music account encouraged me to re-record a video I’m going to post “just one more time” in order to post the best quality video I can and not to settle for mediocrity, people have marched this organization this season which helped make my first season of WGI into what it was, people have supported me from when I was just a 7th grader thinking that this was “just another hobby that I will grow out of in a few months” when in reality it is so much more

People like you reading this now are the reason why I am the person I am now

Overall, thank you for everything everyone has done for me, and you’re welcome for being part of a product you can enjoy (iykyk) by @sam_aguirre21

Clovis West Winter Percussion (Periphery) [2025]

First time being on this side of a winter percussion season and it was super cool 😎 The show was insanely dope and the students made the whole thing come to life, especially this quad line

It was great working with them this whole season and seeing how much they grew as both musicians and people, they were definitely one of the best quad lines Clovis West has seen in a hot minute 🔥 working with them was always extremely fun (even tho I had to constantly get on them about video assignment 😬) and even though I couldn’t make it to their performances, the one I did and the lots were dope 😎

Overall, extremely fun season and can’t wait to work with everyone for the fall 🔥 by @sam_aguirre21

Real talk tho, over the last 6 of years of my drumming career, I’ve literally seen hundreds of shows performed inside the UD arena, and to actually be one of those groups is insane to me

When watching the groups during semi and finals night, so many different thoughts were going through my head, but the one that stay constant was “I can’t wait to to this again next year”

Performing inside THE ACTUAL UD ARENA was better then I could have imagined and it will be a memory that I will hold in my heart forever, from going up and down the tunnel, being behind the curtain waiting to perform, getting out the of the bus into the parking lot I’ve only seen a million times on social media, to the actual performance itself, every part of it was breathtaking
