At @patriotfilms.tv we try to foster the idea of a studio where directors can feed off each other and collaborate. You might find that sometimes your job is benefitting from more than one directors point of view. @vissergram suggested the idea of Edith Piaf's famous “No Regrets” for this piece, while I was writing the treatment, as it was perfectly suited to the languid slo-mo world. Then in the edit it still felt like it needed a twist so I tried it in isiXhosa. Seemed like a stretch but as luck would have it, it worked. You don't know until you try.
