About 7 years ago I thought up an idea to start a clothing brand based on the story of Mauao aka Mount Maunganui. So the obvious next step was to buy 500 plain tees from my flatmate who had a clothing factory in India. It was just coming into winter at the time so I figured I’d get all long sleeves because surely I’d be able to sell 500 tees in winter and then when summer rolls around I’d get some short sleeves in.. well a few winters and summers have past since then , some tees have been sold, some were traded or given away, some have been experimented on so much to the point where I’d probably be the only one to ever wear them, but most of them remain in their original packaging. I guess moral of the story is when you try to do everything at once things happen very slowly. Which brings us to the present. Just recently I printed my Caught by the Dawn design on about 50 of the remaining few that I have left and they are all looking for new homes. Perhaps I’m going against the grain slightly trying to sell long sleeves tees just as we’re heading into summer, but hey, no time like 7 years later 😅 They are all high quality, super soft 100% Indian cotton. Nice and light. Very comfortable to wear. They were originally white and grey but I tie died them so they have a nice vibey colour wash to going on. They all have the same design but some are printed with black ink and some are with white. Sizes are s, m, l, xl. Selling for $40 I recently made a website but haven’t quite sorted the pay system on it yet so if you want to buy one just message me on here and we’ll figure out the size and colour directly. Here’s a little edit from an art session I did with some awesome kids the other day. So cool what these kids made in just a few hours. The dream is to run a business where I hold art making sessions like this (but not limited to just kids workshops, I also want to do them for adults as well) I’m in the middle of building a website where I will have a bunch of different offerings from free flowing creative sessions to paint and sip events to live drawing workshops and even creative team building sessions for colleagues.
