Embarking on the journey of trying to photograph the International Space Station in detail. My goal is to be able to get great photos by the end of the year, so I’ll gradually be upgrading my equipment and improving my technique as times goes on. Shot this with a Nikon Zf mounted to my Celestron NexStar 4SE. This photo’s resolution is 267x333 because of how much I had to crop in, so getting a higher resolution shot is my main focus right now. The original iPhone from 2007 was 1200x1600 for reference. This was a good attempt, but yikes that resolution is looooow. 😵‍💫 by @sam_linoooo

Caught a little bit of the Perseids meteor shower from Austin last night. Next year I think I’ll go somewhere with less light pollution. by @sam_linoooo

Just saw my first Starship launch from about 3 miles away, as close as anyone could safely get. Now begins the long process of sorting my photos. taken in Starbase, TX by @sam_linoooo

I was able to photograph Space Shuttle Atlantis a few hours before NASA launched Artemis II to the Moon. The scale is mind-blowing. One of the most beautiful machines ever built. taken in Kennedy Space Center by @sam_linoooo

In just a few hours, the Artemis II crew will be home. To bring this experience to a close, I’m sharing a final set of photos. Some new, others you may have seen before.

Of all the moments in the past ten days, the one that moved me most was Christina Koch’s words, just after they emerged from the Moon’s far side and reconnected with NASA.

“We will explore. We will build. We will build ships. We will visit again. We will construct science outposts. We will drive rovers. We will do radio astronomy. We will found companies. We will bolster industry. We will inspire. But ultimately, we will always choose Earth.

We will always choose each other.“ taken in Kennedy Space Center by @sam_linoooo

Here’s a photo of Artemis II at an altitude of about 120,000 feet. On Friday night, the crew will be back home on planet Earth! I still have so many more photos to share though, and it’s been so fun to share these with you all! taken in Kennedy Space Center by @sam_linoooo
