One of my favourite moments from last weekend.

Welcoming @_helenfarmer_ to @elevate.privee last weekend meant so much. She doesn’t just talk about supporting local - she actually does it. She champions homegrown brands, shares people’s stories with kindness, and has always stayed true to what she believes in. She shows up for this community in such a genuine way. Her authenticity is rare.

Elevate was created with a vision in mind, it wasn’t just about hosting another pop-up. It came from wanting to build a space where small businesses, artists and founders could feel seen, connect with new people and grow together. A place that celebrates the incredible talent we have right here in the UAE.

Seeing that vision resonate with so many people is something I’m genuinely proud of. What started as an idea born from a love for this city is steadily becoming a community, and that’s all thanks to every founder, artist, partner and visitor who chooses to support local. When we choose to support each other, everyone rises.

Here’s to building something with purpose, one @elevate.privee at a time.

Elevate Lounge: A Conversation of Hope
A shared conversation about strength, wellbeing, recovery and finding light along the way.

For our debut Elevate Lounge gathering, we’re bringing together voices that offer both lived experience and deeper insight into the journey of recovery and wellbeing.

Joining us:

Sila Ismail — cancer warrior, sharing her personal journey of resilience, strength and hope.

Danielle Haggar — biologist, bodyworker, somatic practitioner and founder of The Body Hub®️. With over 20 years of hands-on experience, Danielle works with fascia, scars, gut health and nervous system regulation to explore the root causes of chronic pain, stiffness, fatigue and restricted movement.

The conversation will be moderated by Samiramees Al-Hashimi, Founder, strategist, entrepreneur and passionate advocate for women’s health.

Together, they’ll explore the physical and emotional dimensions of recovery, the importance of listening to the body, and what it means to find hope and light along the way. A conversation to inspire and spread awareness on breast cancer during this month.

I’ve had a tough week. I won’t shy away from saying it. It happens and it’s a part of life, there’s no point in pretending otherwise.

Not every week feels productive. Not every week feels inspiring. And if you’re building something of your own, you’ll know that some phases ask for resilience more than momentum.

One of the hardest lessons is understanding the difference between rest and avoidance. Sometimes you need to step back to regain clarity. Other times, the breakthrough comes from taking one small action, even when you don’t feel like it.

Building a business isn’t about never having difficult weeks. It’s about learning how to navigate them without losing sight of why you started.

If you’re in a hard week right now, emotionally or otherwise, you’re not alone. Keep moving at the pace you can sustain. Progress isn’t always loud.

It’s been a whole year.
A whole year of sunrises, sunsets, birds chirping and cups of coffee. A whole year of familiar moments that will never feel the same again.
A whole year since I held your hand, kissed your forehead, hugged you for the last time.
A whole year since we lost our anchor.

In the heaviness of profound grief we moved forward. We rebuilt. We reshaped the world around the deep wound. The world, in its oblivious motion, kept turning.

The missing won’t stop. It doesn’t get easier, it just exists alongside the audacity of the oblivious motion. In the sunrises, the sunsets, birds chirping and cups of coffee. In the grandkids playing, and the fondness in which they remember their ‘Bibi’.

The wisdom bestowed and the fierce love that never gave up.
For all that you gave and all that I am.
We are all blessed with your memory and the love that won’t fade.

On the first anniversary of the passing of my beloved mother, a moment to reflect and send a little prayer. 🕊️
