POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

After a week of suffering from COVID, I've just received the best news. So thrilled to have my dry-point "Rootbound" accepted for the @sussexcontemporary 😁😁😁

Progress made on the weekend which I didn't get round to posting. Since then I've been struck down with illness (probably COVID). Currently good for nothing and feeling pretty sorry for myself.

Cutting, layering and collaging sections of my prints to create abstract patterns, textures and unexpected connections....

"Helianthus " has a new home 🌻🌻
A little different from my usual practice, both in subject and colour, this print was such a joy to create. I'm so happy that it has gone to a good home.

Still work in progress......The drawing part is done, but I feel it's lacking something. I will ponder on its next steps.

Two prints made their way to new homes yesterday.
"A Beautiful place to say goodbye" 2026
This drypoint holds a very personal memory. It depicts Freshwater West, a place where our family gathered to remember, celebrate and say goodbye to my aunt and uncle.
This piece is about loss, but also about memory. The places that become forever connected to the people we love, and the moments that stay with us long after they are gone. There is sadness in the work, but also something peaceful; a celebration of two lives, the memories they left behind, and of being together as a family in a place of such natural beauty.

The complexity of the subject can sometimes muddle my head, so adding to this an hour or two at a time.
I'm just starting on the layered part of the drawing and looking at two overlaid twisting, gnarly masses is sending me towards the wine 🥂Happy weekend!

Taking my time with this one.
A more considered drawing, slowing down and really observing the detail, textures and intricate twists within the wood. And a more ambitious scale.

Back to some drawing. Building up a framework before adding detail. Getting lost in the tangled roots....
