Wow. 2025 was a year of change & transformation for me. Growth, joy, sorrow, and everything in between. In March I left behind a job and parts of myself that I was very unhappy with to embark on a solo journey back to San Diego. I needed to spend some time with myself and wanted to learn some new skills in the world of avian behavior. I got everything I needed and so much more… I made up with and accepted myself for who I am. I learned how important it is to trust your intuition. And made some amazing new friends. The second half of the year was the most challenging time of my life… I delayed returning home to go help my family after my grandmother’s diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer. We lost her to the disease in November and we’re all still adjusting to a new normal. Through it all I’ve had the most amazing support system in my family and friends… most importantly, my awesome husband who encouraged me to go to California in the first place, and then held it down at home for almost an entire year. I couldn’t have been in a better place to celebrate my 40th birthday today. San Diego will always hold a special place in my heart… It’s just magical ✨

I got to enjoy some of my favorite foods & visit some of my favorite places… And to my delight the OB Farmer’s Market was happening this afternoon. I even got to hang with some of the locals; lookin’ at you, red crowned amazons!

And while my friends and family weren’t physically here to celebrate, I most certainly did not feel alone today. Everyone I love & cherish was right there with me the whole time, & I felt a lot of love over many miles.

Tomorrow starts a really amazing journey for me & I can’t wait to see how it all turns out. 🦜🦉🪶🧡
