It’s no secret creating an event like this takes a lot of hard work. But more than that, it takes finding a deeply aligned community of experts who care just as much as we do about curating experiences that leave people feeling nourished and connected. 💚

When we partnered with @formulafig to host this experience, we were reminded of what happens when deeply passionate, talented people show up, step in, and bring a vision to reality.

We are so grateful to this community who cares deeply about women’s health and wellbeing, we couldn’t have done it without you:

👩🏼‍⚕️ @drgenieveburley — When Genieve first heard about the event, she dropped everything and jumped on board our team. Not only did she speak on our panel and pamper guests with lymphatic drainage massages, she supported on all fronts when our CMO couldn’t end up making it to Toronto.
👩🏻‍🍳 @bella.debartolo — Recommended to us by one of our favorite Vancouver chefs, @chefmeg.thenutritionist, Bella and her team completely nailed the brief, crafting the dreamiest food spread for our evening.
🔗 Meg & @formulafig — Meg supported us with local connections to incredible women-founded brands like @mitsu.ikebaby (Casey created that show-stopping seaweed-inspired floral arrangement!) and @nutbar (with the delicious tonics and superfood bites). Plus, Meg and the team stayed late to help arrange the entire event.
💝 @thejillybox— We are continuously grateful for Julia and Katie’s support from the Jilly Box team, as they gifted us adorable Poppy & Peonies totes and other goodies to elevate our gift bags.
🤳🏼 @cassandrarego — Jumped in at the last minute to capture social content, and thank goodness because she beautifully summarized our day in Toronto!
🏠 Our Hosts — To our CMO’s family, for opening up her childhood home so our team could pack everything into this short but successful launch!

For our Toronto launch with @formulafig, we gathered to talk all things women’s health and well-being for a special edition of What the Fig is Happening to Me? 🤔💚

From hormones and ingredients to infertility, we covered a lot of ground—but our Head of Product, @dr.sarah.harbottle.nd, also brought us back to basics.

We’re constantly told how we should be doing self-care, but it’s often much simpler than we think.💡

Big news… Maris Dae is coming to Toronto via a partnership with our friends at @formulafig.

Come experience a special edition of What the Fig? — a wellness experience and series on women’s wellbeing, skin, and hormones.

We’re teaming up with Formula Fig for an intimate evening that kicks off with a mini wellness experience led by chiropractor and co-founder of BNFTs, @drgenieveburley. Then, we’ll dive into an open discussion on skin-gut health, hormones, and all things wellness with our founder, Sam Rayner, and our head of product and resident naturopathic doctor, @dr.sarah.harbottle.nd.

Enjoy bite + sips from @nutbar + @bella.debartolo, connect with others in the wellness space, and take home a special gift from Maris Dae + more.

We think seaweed is so beautiful, don’t you?

When we launched Maris Dae we had a vision of creating a seaweed installation. It was no easy task. From seaweed foraging, drying, pressing, and arranging, its fragile paper thin leaves were a challenge. But we knew the person who could bring it all together. Our friend Kamila @bloomier.ca has created our signature seaweed bouquet, that has been travelling around from event to event. taken in North Vancouver, British Columbia by @samantharrayner

“Live life harder.”

I had full-body chills when Sam shared this final piece of advice from her mother, the permission she needed to go against the grain and do the damn thing.

Sam did the corporate thing and succeeded. But something in the back of her mind kept nagging. She was waiting for the right time, until a few hard bumps in the road pushed her into her founder era.

Spoiler: Sam is now a mother of two, building her second business @maris.dae — a luxurious, effective, good-for-you wellness line made for humans (especially mums).
