The CommUnity ATL Choir has been popping up all around Atlanta, turning sidewalks into stages and strangers into family.

This week on the Beltline, we sang Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day”while also paying homage to @kirkfranklin version at the end… arranged by our favorite @_jahbee

This is proof that music really is the heartbeat of community. 💛

In the midst of so much noise and controversy across the country, we chose LOVE. ❤️

The CommUnity ATL Choir popped up on the Atlanta Beltline singing “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers…reminding our city (and ourselves) that joy, unity, and hope will always have the last word. 🎶🌞

Because no matter what’s going on in the world, music has the power to heal, connect, and lift us higher.

This movement was created to develop and challenge our participants to be vulnerable … and Samar accepted this challenge and SMASHED IT!!!!

@samarsmithofficial was contacted last Wednesday and asked to form a group, create an arrangement and present it at this weeks #thecommunityatl meet-up

They performed “Rain” by @officialswv with a twist of a @sunday_service_choir arrangement

Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve sung in choirs my entire life, and in 2025, a friend I met through college choir invited me to join what would eventually become one of the most meaningful communities I’ve ever experienced.

What started as weekly gatherings quickly became so much more. We learned songs together, challenged one another creatively, and discovered the beauty of blending our voices in harmony. Over time, we grew into a choir—and into a family.

This community has carried me through some of the hardest seasons of my life. During times when I struggled with housing, finances, and simply trying to make ends meet, this choir became a safe haven. Through my gifts and talents, I found opportunities to sing, perform, and even share my artwork. Whenever life pulled me away, I was always welcomed back with open arms.

To me, choir is more than music. It’s fellowship, healing, creativity, and joy. It’s a place where artists come together to support one another and grow mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Every rehearsal feels like therapy and every song reminds me that none of us are meant to journey alone.

What began as a few people gathering to sing has now grown into something incredible. We’ve touched people around the world through viral moments on social media, and now we’re honored to share our voices on America’s Got Talent. Seeing how far we’ve come is nothing short of a triumph.
