There's very few places that have struck me with the same awe as the Canadian Rockies and it's dramatic peaks.
We had driven past this mountain range earlier in the day and I honestly couldn't keep my eyes off it. The low tree line met by sheer rock faces that turn into the jagged peaks that cut into the sky like a knife were mesmerizing. When we made our way to this hill it felt natural to l break out the long board.

I will never forget the rush and overwhelming free feeling I had in this moment. This is what pure bliss looks like to me.

When in Washington, it was impossible to pass up the chance to experience the rainforest in full force. Rain drops pelted the ground and lush green canopy overhead like gravel hitting pavement. The incessant roar of the rain clamoring down around us became increasingly peaceful as we stomped through puddles along the trail.
Once we reached the falls there was a short window of opportunity to capture it's magnificence without exposing my camera to the elements for too long, so there was no time for tripods. (if only the Canon 6D was waterproof😅). I bounded over the slick rocks, scouring the scene for the right angle, popping my camera out from underneath my rain coat to snap a few photos at a time with little time to review them. Once I found the perfect spot, I signaled @nickuthe to scurry over the the bridge in his flip flops. Not many of my shots turned out clearly from that day, except for this 3-shot vertical panoramic shot that fell right into place.

Practicing the meditative mindfulness of enjoying the tiny details of life. When's the last time you stopped long enough to watch the clouds blow over?

Recently, Roaring Fork Safe Passage’s (RFSP) ecologist Julia Kintsch alongside local officers from Colorado Parks & Wildlife walked key sections along Highway 82 — Cattle Creek, Catherine’s Store and Aspen Airport — to assess the fencing and evaluate near-term fixes.

RFSP advocacy team member and local photographer @samaxness joined the team to document the day. These images offer a behind-the-scenes look at what this work looks like.

Wildlife crossings only work when paired with proper fencing. We see fencing fixes and installation a lower-cost, high-impact near term fix, while we continue to move forward on the larger crossing infrastructure projects. by @samaxness

Dreaming of frostier days❄️

Despite having an overall lackluster year for snow in the high Rockies , us locals will always find the best days to be out playing in our playground🏔️🏂

This was a one of the best days from this winter ski touring with friends in company with a few of our famed 14ers.

Bowleostasis (bôwlēəˈstāsis) — noun

A transient state of alpine flow achieved while descending untouched terrain in the Highlands Bowl, characterized by the seamless alignment of mind, body, and environment.
While experiencing bowleostasis, perception sharpens while all internal dialogue dissolves away; movement becomes natural & instinctive rather than deliberate or forced.
At its peak, bowleostasis becomes a momentary feeling of bliss with a profound perception that nothing is missing.
The world feels ordered, coherent, and sufficient.

The last storm cycle that hit Colorado delivered a healthy dose of cold smoke ❄️💨

Contrary to popular belief, friends are better on a powder day😁🙌

This is how smooth and effortless a snowboard vacation can feel when you let @rocketcloset.ski take care of the logistics for you!

Snowboard. Smiles. Shoot. Sauna. Sushi.

Despite only being a couple hours away from me, this was my first time snowboarding at @vailmtn. The mountain was generally uncrowded early season despite the lack of snow in Colorado & the festive decorations all over the village made it feel like a winter paradise!

I’m loyal to team @ikonpass but spending 4 days around @vail.colorado was truly an incredible time🙌
