To say the last week has been hard couldn’t be any less of an understatement. Sam was someone who was larger than life, lived with his foot on the gas, and never tried to be anyone but himself. Whenever we were out together, people would shout “hey Sam”, and we would always answer at the same time “yeah? Wait which one?”. As I’m sure you can imagine it was usually not me.

He worked hard at everything he did. Whether it was spending an hour to get the tape on his lacrosse stick perfect , or spending over a year literally building @mountainkava with his bare hands. When Sam has an idea he wanted to bring to fruition, he dove in headfirst and learned everything he needed to know, asked any question, and didn’t stop until he was satisfied.

Sam was also the type of person who never wanted anyone to miss out on the fun. He never let you have a bad day, no matter what. Still to this day, he is somehow finding ways to make me laugh when I’m sitting here crying.

Sam had a gift of being able to converse with anyone he crossed paths with, and his interest in hearing their stories was so genuine. I think that is showing itself in the amount of people who are sharing stories, photos, and videos with Sam.

I am certain that my brother is smiling down on us right now, listening to all the stories that are being told of him. I just hope he knows how proud of him I am, and how much I loved him.

There is no such thing as goodbye, just see you later Moe. You weren’t just a friend, you were a piece of who I am. I will never heal from this, but I’ll keep talking about you every single day. #Sam²

Live like Moe: Be a friend to anyone you cross paths with, reach out to someone you haven’t talked to in a while, and always tell your friend you love them. by @samcamacho44
