What happens when you put the man who reimagined Battlestar Galactica in a room full of BSG fans and start asking questions? You get stories we’ve NEVER heard before!

Robin and I were joined by the incredible Ronald D. Moore for a very special LIVE episode of Battlestar React-ica!

We revisited some of the biggest moments from Season 2, reacted together in real time and finally got to ask Ron all those questions we’ve been dying to ask. Behind-the-scenes secrets, stories from the making of BSG, a whole lot of laughs and a few surprises!

But the most incredible part of this night was WHY we were all there.

Together, we raised $33,000 for the Sam Day Foundation to support pediatric cancer research. I cannot thank everyone who showed up, supported us and helped make this happen enough.

Big news! 📢🎗️New findings from the team at @seattlechildrens just published in JCI Insight, point to a promising new approach to one of the biggest challenges in Ewing sarcoma: metastasis.

The SDF funded research suggests that menin inhibitors, developed to treat certain leukemias, should be investigated as potential new treatments for patients with Ewing sarcoma who are at high risk of metastatic relapse.

This is such exciting research, largely funded by @theedenproject4sdf an SDF Chapter in Seattle, and supporters like you.

Thank you to Dr. Beth Lawlor, Dr. Katherine Braun and the entire team at Seattle Children’s for your persistence in exploring the role of menin in Ewing sarcoma.

Metastasis is such a problem, and you’ve taken a huge step toward preventing it. 💛

“We have to poison them to save them.”

It’s a phrase we’ve heard from parents of kids with cancer, describing the impossible reality of chemotherapy.

Because when the choice is between toxic treatment and losing your kid, you choose the treatment that can save their life.

This new research is both troubling and motivating. It gives us a clearer look at the biological cost of some treatments we rely on today, and why we need better options for kids with cancer.

We’re glad to see this research getting attention in outlets like @newsweek because this is an issue that demands attention.

Our kids deserve treatments that not only help them survive, but help them live well. We must do better. Link in bio.

That’s how many people we reached on social media alone during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. People who may not have known our work before September. People who heard a story, learned a statistic, met a kid, discovered our mission, or simply stopped to pay attention.

And we got here because people like you showed up.

37 miles can take you some pretty meaningful places. 💛

The SDF team got our steps in walking the halls of the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders Research with the @seattlechildrens investigators who are turning hope into progress.

They put so much into this work, and you can feel it. We’re honored to support their research and inspired by their determination.

Hearing what they’re working toward left us with so much hope for the next breakthrough.
