The saddest carousel I’ve ever created, Too real, too raw, just me venting.
About love I lost, memories that ache, and the irreplaceable presence of someone who made life brighter.
Sometimes writing is the only way to let the heart speak💔

A few days back, my grandmother (my Nano) passed away. Kindly recite Surah Fatiha for her. May Allah grant her the highest rank in Jannah. 30th August 2024 was the heaviest.💔

I always thought losing my Dado during school days was the toughest pain I could ever feel—because I was so close to her. Back then, I believed nothing could ever hurt more than that loss. But now, being an adult and facing the death of my Nano feels even heavier. Because now I truly understand how precious these relationships are. They are equally important.

She wasn’t just a grandmother—she was the one who eagerly waited for us, counting the days until we arrived in vacations. The joy on her face when we stepped inside is etched in my memory. And when it was time to leave, she would plead, “ek din aur ruk jao na”… as if one more day could hold time still. And I carry the guilt of not staying longer. Life kept pulling us away—first school, then college, then university, and now work. And all she ever wanted was a little more time. If only I had realized how priceless those extra days were, I would have left everything just to sit beside her a little longer. Now the house feels quieter. No one waiting at the door. No one insisting we stay. No one who can ever love us in that same pure way again.

This is the heaviest chapter of life—because losing your grandparents means losing a shield of love and duas that nothing in the world can replace. But I remind myself, grandmothers never really leave. They live on in every prayer they made for us, in the values they instilled, and in the love they left behind.

May Allah reunite us with them in a place where there are no goodbyes. Ameen. 😭
