Fear makes people accept a lot of things they normally wouldn’t.

That’s why the way we talk about AI matters.

If we scare people into thinking only a few giant companies can keep this technology under control, we should probably pay attention to who benefits from that.

If a bad strategy helps it complete a goal, that’s enough.

I think we give AI way too much of a personality.

If it sounds scared, hostile, manipulative, or creepy, that doesn’t automatically mean there’s some hidden little mind in there feeling those things.

The behavior matters. The story we attach to it matters too.

Teachers: comment RED PEN and I’ll send you the exact prompt.

You can’t out-police AI cheating. You can change the assignment so copying doesn’t work.

Ask AI for a short essay with three errors hidden in it, hand it to students, and have them explain why each one is wrong. They have to know the material to catch it. It works for AI in the classroom and for critical thinking.
