Happy World Circus Day! 🎪 Some years ago, I started a documentary series featuring contemporary circus performers whose stories I wanted to tell after diving headfirst into the circus arts. They were my friends in class, professionals whose work I admired, and just generally people in the circus community that I had been lucky to cross paths and connect with that shared this deep love. I added playlists of both seasons’ episodes in my bio (finally!), and I’ve made this lil’ sizzle reel showcasing a taste of each episode. 🤎 1 week with Archer “Archie” Vasilievich Korobko 🤎 At 3:45am a week before his due date, my water broke, and after a last-minute decision pivot to go to the closer hospital (instead of the one we planned for just 10 extra minutes away), less than 4 hours later I was holding a baby 🫪
Happy to be home with our family of 4 (humans). 5 including Patchki, of course 🐱 by @samgurnick

(Link in bio) My friend @kerrywee1 invited me on her podcast The Expecting Aerialist, and as vulnerable as I feel saying so, it’s out there in the world now!
We get pretty real, especially about some of the complications I had both before and during my first pregnancy: endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and whatever the hell a subchorionic hemorrhage actually is.

Finding out I was pregnant with my second baby 4 days before my scheduled trigger finger surgery (that resulted in a last minute switch to local anesthesia where I didn’t feel pain but kinda felt everything), with zero pain medication for recovery, on the same day my son was diagnosed with RSV (for the 2nd time) was a trip, to say the least. Parenting while pregnant in the first trimester with one hand nearly literally tied behind my back. Shoutout to my client calls that I muted so I could go puke (again) while my son watched Charlie Brown doing his breathing nebulizer treatment in the background.

I’ve never so openly shared this much about my health experiences, so I’m a little nervous, but I’m hoping other/future moms feel seen just a little bit, aerialists or not. Even after having previously taken a long hiatus from aerial for ~4 years (I said 5 in the episode, pregnancy brain 🤷🏻‍♀️), a break of which wasn’t totally due to said health issues but also some self-doubt/dip in confidence, I learned that you really can get back into your passions after motherhood to find yourself in your body again.
