A Love Letter To The Harbor Bridge
.
Dear Old Harbor,
You will be missed, my friend.
When i got the news from my mom that the Harbor Bridge was officially closed, i cried. For years, my family and i have crossed this bridge. To get to Portland and back, to get downtown, to drive under the lights at Christmas time. The background of many memories. A Corpus Christi staple you could see from anywhere downtown. Floating the lazy river at Hurricane Alley, enjoying a baseball game at Whataburger Field, relaxing on North Beach.
In October of 2017, we celebrated my gramma being a 7 year breast cancer survivor. We completed the annual Breast Cancer Walk downtown and were taking pictures EVERYWHERE. At photo ops provided, near the finish line, and my personal favorites, the Watergardens. The water was PINK! The families' surrounding were so nice, and the view was amazing.
I remember the first day i ever titled "The Best Day of My Life." My parents and i were in town earlier that day. We'd eaten lunch, gone to the mall, and had just stopped by Marbel Slab for ice cream. We were driving over the Harbor Bridge towards Port A and as we drove across, the sun was setting, so there was the perfect amount of day & night. I'm looking out the window and am just so mesmerized by the bridge lights. It was magical. One of my favorite memories. One of the best days.
When my mom told me the bridge was closed, i was so sad. Partly because of the reminiscence that i felt, partly because of the memories other people won't be able to make in the future and partly because of one picture that i wanted to take for my hs senior photos. I would be right in the middle of the Watergardens with the Harbor Bridge behind me in the background. In my white blouse, blue jeans, and black heal boots. Unfortunately, the Watergardens were turned off when we went, so i didn't get to get the photo. It was okay, though, because i got so many others that i loved in other areas downtown.
This past weekend, my mom asked if i wanted to go down to the Watergardens to take some pictures with the Harbor Bridge before it gets torn down. Here are some of the photos. To one last memory.

now i know The Life of a Showgirl, babe ❤️‍🔥
.
this week, i prepicked out the outfits that i was going to wear every day, i listened to the album on thursday night at 11pm when it came out, went to target on friday after school to see the album in person, saw the show in theaters friday, opening night, and got my Showgirl cardigan delivered on saturday. this week was full of fun and excitement, and i, along with many other swifties and friends (im)patiently waiting for the release of The Life of a Showgirl. i have never experienced anything like this before and am so thankful to anyone and everyone who had to put up with me because i know i probably got a little annoying... so thank you for putting up with it and not letting my constant obsessive behaver Ruin (Our) Friendship. i love and appreciate you all more than you will ever know!
.
and to @taylorswift, thank you for an unforgettable week 🫶
