I could never thank God enough for everything he has done for me. I am beyond grateful and blessed to be attending MOREHOUSE SCHOOL OF MEDICINE literally on Tuesday lol

It’s been a long time coming. I graduated from LSU with a bachelors in Kinesiology with a Human Movement Science Concentration in 2017. I received my masters in Biology with a Medical Science concentration in 2018. I took the MCAT in 2019 &I didn’t do well. I planned to retake it in 2020, but the day before my exam I had to have emergency surgery for appendicitis and devastated doesn’t even begin to explain how I was feeling. 2021 I did great & baby you couldn’t tell me nothing lol. In the meantime in between time I was an Anatomy, Physiology, &Pathology teacher. I became a phlebotomist. I started my own successful lash business, The Lash Doctor, that allowed me to work for myself full time this past year and a half. I got to travel and do things I never thought I would do & now my dreams have come true and I’m going to be a doctor baby! 🥺👩🏽‍⚕️

I learned so much on this journey - to always believe in and never doubt myself, to never give up, to not compare myself to others and to focus on my own journey, how to deal with disappointment, to let go of control and to trust Gods timing and plan for my life, to not attach my personal worth to my accomplishments, to put myself first, to live life to the fullest, and that everything truly happens for a reason.

I am so proud of myself for never giving up! I randomly just start crying cuz wow I did it and it’s really happening. I’m so thankful for my family and friends that I can say always believed in and encouraged me. I’m so thankful for the love of my life being there for me every step of the way. I’m so thankful for every medical student, resident, &Dr. that I’ve crossed paths with for their advice and help. I’m so GRATEFUL TO GOD!! Dr. Samiyyah Muhammad MD loading…
