Here’s the ride cymbal from the last video. Its a 20 inch Meinl Byzance Jazz Tradition Light Ride at a nice and thin 1686g! I believe this cymbal was actually displayed at a Meinl trade show a while back but I managed to get it for a really good price back in 2022 from @bentleysdrumshop on reverb. Ive used this cymbal for a while with rivets as a left side cymbal but Im starting to really like the idea of playing it as a main ride. Let me know what you guys think! by @samjamesplaysdrums

Trying to tighten up my groove a bit! This is at 90 bpm. My questionably realistic goal is to eventually be able to play this consistently at around 105+ bpm with consistent 16th note hihat hits and free communication between the snare and the kick. by @samjamesplaysdrums

One thing that Ive started to notice in my playing is that I groove better when try to focus on how it feels and the timing and not tensing up. That lesson definitely applied to these videos. The second video is a take from before I tried to lossen up. Let me know if you can hear a difference! by @samjamesplaysdrums
