my family.

year 28… wow. 🤍✨
im sitting here feeling overwhelmingly loved and blessed by every single message, call, hug, and birthday wish. thank you. truly. your love made my heart so full today.

looking back, 28 was one of the most transformative years of my life. it brought me so much joy — an engagement to the love of my life, huge steps of growth in my career, deeper and richer friendships, and the most beautiful shift in my relationship with the Lord. i’ve felt Him move, guide, support, and bless me in ways i couldn’t have imagined a year ago.

this past year reminded me that when you stay faithful, keep working, stay grounded, and keep your heart open, God has a way of surprising you with more than you prayed for. growth doesn’t always feel glamorous in the moment, but my goodness is it necessary in life.

here’s to year 29. to more peace, more purpose, more joy…and to stepping into one of the most beautiful roles of my life: becoming a wife. i’m walking into this next chapter grateful, expectant, and excited for all the blessings ahead. 💛

1 year- no alcohol.

1 year of noticing my skin clear up
1 year of feeling less inflammation throughout my body
1 year of truly working through my anxiety
1 year of being in the moment with those i love, rather than trying to get as drunk as possible to “have fun”

i’m not saying this was easy, it was not. but i have such a strong support system behind me. i truly could not have done it without all of them.

if you’re thinking about cutting alcohol out for whatever reason, do it. i got to a point where i wasn’t using it responsibly anymore, and almost lost some incredible people in my life.

the last thing i heard you say was “i’ll still be here when you visit again, i love you Sammy”

i cannot even begin to describe how profound of a loss this is for our family. grandpa frank, ol bean, easter bunny, frankie will be so deeply missed.

he was truly one of the most supportive individuals in my life. almost every sporting event he was at (even traveled to georgia for our rugby game at nationals).

i’ll miss all his little quirks and jokes and sayings such as “DR SAMMY!!” and “buckle up for carelessness!!” i’ll miss his multitude of stories from when he was young, like swallowing money or eating a lightbulb.

my grandpa truly lived life to the fullest. he taught us to hold the ones we love most as tight as we can. to always thank God at the end of the day for the incredible family that we have. i remember many many holiday dinners and how he would express such love and gratitude for each one of us.

grandpa, i love you & i’ll always miss you. say hi to Zoe for me. i hope heaven has supplied you with an endless amount of Hamms.

1 year ago i graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic.

1 year ago i said goodbye to my incredible friends (rugby teammates & classmates).

1 year ago i packed everything up and moved to Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho with the help of my wonderful parents (Tim Schumacher & Jodi Schumacher).

1 year ago i left my massive support system back in wisconsin.

looking back now…it was one of the best decisions of my life.

i’ve grown both professionally & personally. i’ve met my person. i’ve gained some outstanding friends. i love my job & all the people i get to help.

1 year ago i became a doctor of chiropractic & have loved every single minute of it.
