Lake Placid Ironman 2026. One of the most anointed days of my life.

When God asked me to do the Lake Placid Ironman, I had no idea the journey of healing He would bring me on. While it took longer than expected, the timing and day was exactly in His Providence so that I could race “free”. To work hard to overcome a deep swim panic, to race with a torn meniscus, and to spend countless days meticulously figuring out my diabetes was all worth it. To have so many friends and family from so many different seasons of my life along the race course, made it beyond blessed.

To my Bible study girls- God brought us together to grow in Him, and to have 6 of us there competing and cheering, and the rest praying from afar, showed me this journey is about sisterhood and the beautiful women you meet along the way.

To those that helped me grow physically, mentally, and spiritually throughout this process- I am beyond grateful. To all those that paved this course with your prayers- they upheld me.

To my family- Mom, Padre, @geulie93 and Birdie. I couldn’t have done it without your support, emergency supply mapping, listening, and encouragement throughout.

And to you @rachzili13 - my coach, my mentor, my dear friend. Sharing this race course with you and a post race hug, was the perfect celebration after the last 25 months of training, ups and downs, sacrifice, and adventure. When I felt better at mile 16 than I did at mile 3 of the run- I just heard your voice, “trust”. In that moment I trusted my body and training, and trusted that God was finishing His mighty work as only He could. Thank you for helping me fulfill a call.

I thought Sunday would be about the Crucifixion. And trust me there were many moments I uttered the name of Jesus aloud, experienced deep suffering, meditated on His Passion, and called to mind all the intentions and people I was offering for. But the grace I received and lived was Resurrection. The day was never dark, hard yes, but never dark- the light of His Resurrection, and all your prayers made it pure joy. After all- Suffering and Joy are wed.
