This series of “Three Feet” portrays different aspects of how I interact and communicate with my feet through the process of competitive running.
Slide 2: “Bone Structure” depicts the anatomically accurate bones of the feet; this represents the knowledge gained through many PT appointments and research in running physiology and recovery.
Slide 3: “Heat Map” depicts a simplified form of the bones, and major ligaments and tendons. This represents the heat I feel from the friction of my foot when I run.
Slide 4: “In Motion” depicts the image of a fully realized foot while running. With an impressionist style, the foot appears to be blurred as it strikes the ground, primed to propel the body forward in stride. by @sammunger

“Blocks” winter 2025-26, 18x13x7”
I wanted to visualize my training from the 2025 cross country build, I contemplate the many effects of running consistently.
Each block represents one day of running, the length of the block dictated by the daily mileage. 7 blocks make up one week of training, one row contains two weeks, 9 rows contain the 18 week training block in preparation for the season.
Training the body consistently produces more than personal records, it establishes a lifestyle that can build someone up and can give them a solid base off which to live their life. by @sammunger

SECONDLAYER Jacket
I designed and constructed this Secondlayer Jacket to solve cold-weather problems with running jackets—being too cold without any jacket, or too hot and steamy with other jackets.
This is a lightweight woven cotton layer (white) for a natural cool feel, with knit panels (black) that provide directional stretch for good mobility. The cropped length allows proper hip movement and looks great with short running shorts. It prevents me from looking like I’m not wearing pants!

My Secondlayer Jacket is light enough to wear when working hard, keeps the wind off, and disperses just the right amount of heat.
This jacket has a built in visor for visibility and rain protection and to keep it off the forehead when sweating. The mesh ear panels function as ventilation to keep sunglasses from fogging up and increase hearing and peripheral vision. The triangular mesh panel in the back of the jacket disperses heat during workouts. Finally, the watch window lets me check my stats without moving the sleeve. by @sammunger

“Scrat” The manic Sabertooth Squirrel has captured his acorn! This assignment was to make a rattle. A sphere was obvious and easy, but I really wanted to stretch myself into doing something challenging and fun.

So proud of this team for running their guts out (literally) and MAKING STATE!! We finished Second at the Region meet in Corpus Christi yesterday. We were ranked seventh but our training and teamwork really paid off in the very hot, humid conditions. Congrats to Griffin for first place and Cooper for a top ten finish. Thanks to our alternates who trained hard with us, our parents and our coach. Can’t wait to run at the State meet. taken in Dr Jack Dugan Family Soccer & Track Stadium by @sammunger

Here’s my first work for my sustained investigation series for my Studio Painting class. This is my awesome friend Louis pitching for Bowie. I wanted to capture the tension and motion in his pitching action. This is acrylic on canvas, 8x10. The last photo is the work in progress. by @sammunger

Great race and a new PR of 16:05 out in Marble Falls last weekend for the Leo Manzano Invitational 5k. It was perfect weather, a fast course, and a really good team performance. Districts are next!! by @sammunger
