Sensory overload unlocked!! No lie, never saw so many versions of beef jerky and home calling for brisket on the board. Buc-ee’s is like hunter-middle aisle only in Walmart had a baby with a super-WAWA.

Southern kindness helped me figure out the bathroom and within 15 minutes 3 separate people had asked me if it was my first time. Totally dazed and confused.

Buc-ee’s is an experience!

High-fived Ken, and felt like a shopping diva saving 10%.

Then the words “Senior Tuesday” caught up with me. 😂

It’s funny what can send your brain down a rabbit hole. I’m writing about this little life-ish moment for Lady Becoming—and why a discount made me think about the privilege of getting older.

For now, Ken is probably planning our next Tuesday trip to Ross. And I’m not going he is gonna have to wait for his 🤣.

This is NOT the first time! I am very aware. Except when I am oblivious. This might be a jersey girl style unlocked!

This wasn’t the first time I’ve walked around in public with a sunglass lens missing. Not a single soul said anything to me, like no one!
Come on, people. Why ya’ll do me so dirty like that?

It doesn’t matter if they’re cheap, mid, or stupid expensive. I break sunglasses like it’s a second job. The odd thing is, I don’t really break them. The lens pops out every time! That’s the curiosity peaking. Like why???

Some people and places are picture perfect. When you get to experience them together, it’s the Chef’s Kiss of life.

I’ve been going to Jersey beaches all of my life. Have core memories of waking up at 6:00 am with my girls, taking a nap in the back seat of a light blue car while my dad drove us to Sandy, his beach of choice. We had to drive him back. That was the deal. Walking all of Sandy Hook and seeing waaaaay too much! Dancing up and down Sea Side Heights and Point Pleasant boardwalks for hours.

Ken and I even got married at the Shore in Sea Bright. He 💍 proposed to me on a beach ( in CT- I’ll forgive him 😊) .

Packing up all the things for an Ocean City day or weekend trip for our three young boys to experience sand, shells, ocean life, waves, and boogie boards. Watch them make friends with kids they may never see again, or kids from the neighborhood that happened to be there too.

And now, decades into life, the Jersey Shore still whispers my name. Ken and I have landed on a new beach, Sea Girt.

It’s wild to realize that the Jersey Shore has been there for me at every stage of life, and in slightly different spots giving me exactly what I needed.

I believe that God’s Kiss is the Jersey Shore.

You good ❓ Not everyday is a sunny 🌞blue sky scape, but man when it is, isn't it sweet. Jersey humidity not bonkers, heat not unbearable. Makes for a longing of playing outside all day long. Don't get stuck in the remember when days or the 1000 things that are on your mind. Go outside, Take in today- take it in! It's beautiful. 😂Laughing so I don't 😭cry. Almost cracked a rib on this one. The level of frustration when words, the very yummiest part of our expression slips like a vapor on a regular basis. He knew, I did not know. He also knew I said, “yeah-yeah”, because I'm tired of word charades.
