This has been a very sad weekend for me. We lost our cat, Bella, to Cancer on Friday afternoon while she was in hospital. We went to view her yesterday and I can't get over the way she was presented, with such care and respect. She looked so beautiful and peaceful, no longer suffering. She was such a lovely cat, during her final vet visit on Wednesday, no matter how shit she was feeling, or how much pain she was in, she would still purr the second anyone touched her. She was always down for some affection. She had such a presence in our household, I can feel she is missing. For the last two years, my life has been scheduled around her medication and feeding times. Now that all that is gone, it is a very weird feeling. I feel a bit lost.

Bella first developed Diabetes about two and a half years ago. Then 14 months ago she was diagnosed with a visceral mast cell tumor. Due to her being diabetic, this complicated the treatment process and our least risky and most comfortable option for her was the palliative care. The prognosis for the MCT was very poor and we were told she might have weeks to a few months. We got 14 months, which was a miracle. I've had 14 months to prepare myself for this moment, but I don't think we can ever truly be ready to lose a loved one.
