FLEUR DE LIS 2026!⚜️

Last Friday, the brothers of Delta Zeta partnered with Greek life at FIU and raised $15,418.35 for the Alzheimer’s Association in just 24 hours.

Congratulations to Camila Santamaria of Alpha Omicron Pi, our Ms. Fleur de Lis 2026! Camila’s dedication, grace, and heart for this cause made her an incredible representative of everything this event stands for. We’re proud to have her carry the crown, and we can’t wait to see her represent Fleur de Lis this year.👑

A special thank you to the sisters Alpha Omicron Pi, Delta Phi Epsilon, Phi Mu, and Phi Sigma Sigma for bringing the energy and supporting such an important cause. We also would like to thank Philanthropy Chair Oliver Cardoso, our Executive Board, and Ashley Prol, FDL 2025, for building this event from the ground up.

Until next year, F&F⚜️

This summer, Delta Zeta was beyond proud to be present at the 2026 Sigma Alpha Mu National Convention, held at City College of New York, where our Fraternity was founded in 1909.

We’re humbled to have been honored with the Dedication to Philanthropy Award and recognized for raising the most philanthropy funds nationally. That recognition belongs to every single person who showed up and put in the work this year.

A sincere thank you to our Recorder Kaya Erdal and our Exchequer Kristian Gonzalez, who traveled to NY and kept Delta Zeta well represented on a national stage.

Excited to bring what they learned back to the chapter this fall.

Brother Spotlight: Derrick Corona

Derrick continues to embody what it means to be a Brother of Sigma Alpha Mu through his dedication, leadership, and commitment to building opportunities for those around him. Born in Miami, Florida, Derrick recently graduated from Florida International University with a degree in Public Relations and Applied Communications and an A.A. in Psychology, leaving behind a legacy of service and impact within the Delta Zeta Chapter.

Throughout his time in ΣΑΜ, Derrick served in multiple leadership positions across several years, including Exchequer, Formal Chair, and Social Media Chair. Whether organizing chapter initiatives, coordinating major events, or creating memorable experiences for brothers and guests, Derrick consistently brought ideas to life through careful planning and execution. His efforts helped secure sponsors, partnerships, and opportunities that elevated the chapter and created lasting value for future generations of brothers.

Beyond his leadership roles, Derrick has been a strong advocate for health and wellness. As a fitness coach, he has inspired brothers to prioritize their physical and mental well-being while fostering a culture of discipline and self-improvement. His passion for fitness extended beyond ΣΑΜ, collaborating with other Greek organizations to promote healthy lifestyles and strengthen relationships throughout the FIU Greek community.

From his leadership and professionalism to his commitment to helping others succeed, Derrick represents what it means to lead with purpose. As he begins his next chapter after graduation, the impact he has made on Sigma Alpha Mu will continue to be felt for years to come.
