Area Studio was a salon that shaped the Australian barbering scene. The space, the aesthetic, the quality of work. It was ahead of everything else. @jiratnagopal and I had many conversations about how great the brand was, well before Sonder existed. In 2020 I visited my brother and dad in Melbourne and made sure I stopped by Area for a haircut. The level of stylists inside that salon was top tier, and the space was even better than the photos. Fast forward to mid 2025. An opportunity to purchase the salon landed in front of us, and it was impossible to ignore. We wanted to build on the legacy @barbersdream created, but write the next chapter our way. The mission continues. The first interstate location of @sondermens, in Melbourne’s CBD. by @sammysonder

You are the result of millions of choices. But who you are today doesn’t guarantee who you’ll be tomorrow. Every day, thousands of decisions. Thousands of chances to become someone different. The question is, are you making those decisions based on how you feel in the moment, or who you’ve decided to become? Model: @bencrerar Shooter: @ericcsonder Products: @blakhaircare by @sammysonder
