I got tired of seeing the cardboard sleeves from my mini art print vending machines go in the trash! Some stores that host my machines save them behind the register and some made their own boxes, but way too many of this reusable item ended up in the garbage can.

Needing a better solution, I designed this little box that will attach to each machine with magnets for customers to drop in their unwanted sleeves - allowing me to put them back into circulation!

Yes, I need to glue it cleaner (don’t come at me for those messy joints), but this one is just the prototype! taken in New Orleans, Louisiana by @samngablum

They’re finally hereeeeeeeeee! 🖼️

You can now get your mini art print frames on my website (link in bio), and very very soon (like probably next week) at @cafedumonde shop locations that host my vending machines.

Each wood frame holds a 2.5x3.5” art print and features magnets and wall hanging hooks on the back, so you can make a teeny tiny gallery wall OR cover those old wedding save-the-dates on your fridge.

Right now there are three edge and six color options available (if stock says empty on anything, it should be updated within the next week… I’m working as fast as I can!).

Each frame is loving designed (with the help of the amazing @bybrunapetalla), painted, cut, assembled, and packaged by me. ❤️

P.S. Please ignore how dirty my thumb is in the final picture. That’s laser cutting residue, and it’s just how I am now. 😢 taken in New Orleans, Louisiana by @samngablum

✨New Branding Work! ✨

My dear, sweet @jasminmara came to me needing a brand for her new pet services company. As a quick start, she generated an AI logo, but quickly realized that she deserved something that was more than “good enough”. Her human-made logo features her cutie pie face as well as top pup Nino - ready to go on any adventure with you!

P.S. If you live in New Orleans and need a pet sitter, walker, boarding, or any other pet adventures, reach out to @jazzyspetadventures! taken in New Orleans, Louisiana by @samngablum

Carrollton Station: 8140 Willow Street, New Orleans. Across from the streetcar barn. (And yes… I did take some creative liberties and put the old sign back on the building because it’s a cool sign and I wanted to.) 🍻

Information below from the venue’s website.

Carrollton Station is in the oldest continually operating barroom in the Carrollton neighborhood. The building’s origins go hand-in-hand with the streetcar barn across the street. In 1891, construction began on the barn in an area where there was little but small family farms and dairies. Bavarian baker John Leonard Eiswith saw an opportunity and purchased 1/4th of the 8100 block of Willow Street, then named Fifth Street.

On January 24, 1893, Eiswirth was granted permission from the city to open his corner bar. With his son, John Jr., the men immediately opened the doors. Eight days later, the first electrified streetcar in New Orleans departed from the new Carrollton barn.

After John Sr. passed away in 1895, his son took over the business. He refashioned it into the Carrollton Restaurant & Bar, where streetcar employees and their riders could grab hot meals, raw oysters, and spirits to wash them down with. The earliest regulars were the men who worked for the streetcar company and who also lived in the neighborhood, becoming an important landmark in streetcar history.

The restaurant and bar continued operating through Prohibition. Although liquor sales were illegal, the Volstead Act was not strictly enforced in New Orleans if barkeepers made friends with the right people and did not flaunt their insubordination. Operating as multiple establishments throughout the 20th century, including the famous Willow Inn, Carrollton Station, as it is known today was established in 1980. taken in Carrollton Station by @samngablum

One of the things I love most about living in New Orleans is how surrounded I am every day by the most talented, inspirational creatives. Author, @jamiattenberg, is one of those local treasures that I have had the joy of getting to work with recently.

With a career spanning 10 critically-acclaimed books (and y’all should be hyped about #11 coming out next year - I got a sneak peek and it’s SO GOOD), we worked together to figure out a visual identity that encompassed the breadth of work she’s created. I kept a relatively simple wordmark for her logo that wouldn’t look out of place next to any cover art and mixed in a suite of illustrations - one to represent each of her books. The new branding has launched with an updated website, reskinned Substack, and graphics for web and social media.

I highly encourage you to head out to your local bookstore and pick up your next great read. 📚 taken in New Orleans, Louisiana by @samngablum
