Feldera just raised $21.5M to stop your AI deciding on yesterday’s data.

Their engine is incremental view maintenance. Instead of rerunning the whole batch job every time one new order lands, it computes only what changed. Feldera says warehouse compute drops to 5% or less of what it was.

Fits fraud alerts, inventory, AI agents. Anything where stale data quietly costs you.

AMD agrees to buy World Labs for $8.2B.

All in stock, announced Monday 28 September. Deal’s not done yet though - regulators still have to sign off, and AMD expects that to take until the end of 2026.

If the name’s new: Fei-Fei Li’s lab built ImageNet back in 2009, which is a big part of why modern AI exists. (She says it had 15 million images. Her own paper that year says 3.2 million. Numbers were vibes back then.)

World Labs is two years old and builds world models - AI that generates entire 3D worlds. Its Atlas demo turns one photo into a full 3D space, but only handpicked partners can use it so far.

It’s AMD’s biggest deal since Xilinx. Li becomes AMD’s chief scientist under Lisa Su, and her co-founders keep running the team.

Slightly awkward bit: Nvidia was also an investor in World Labs’ $1B round back in February, and Nvidia has its own world model play called Cosmos.

The part worth watching is whether any of this starts shaping AMD’s actual chips.
