Porsche has unveiled the Mission S vision model, a mid-engined super sports car concept, at its world premiere in Queens, New York.

- It previews Porsche’s evolved design direction under its Sportwagenschmiede ‘35 strategy and points to a permanent mid-engined super sports car platform positioned above the 911

- The exterior has torpedo fenders, a roofline that runs through to the rear and a wraparound main line joining the front and rear light signatures, with cues from the 911, G model, GT1, 959 and 917

- At the rear, there is a GT1-inspired car-in-car layout and a fully integrated active rear wing, while the wheels follow the 928’s dial design and are built for lower weight

- Inside, five round instruments sit behind the wheel, with an analogue-needle rev counter that moves closer to the driver depending on the drive mode

- There is no permanent centre or passenger display. A retractable MagSafe-compatible smartphone mount handles navigation and info, and the My Porsche App offers digital instrument designs

- Physical switches, push-pull dashboard controls, a reworked Sport Chrono element and a seat-integrated seatbelt buckle sit alongside the displays

- The colours are Firn White Metallic, Light Red Metallic, Black Chrome and a Special Black interior, inspired by Porsche’s racing liveries

No word yet on India.

Worth watching how much of this design carries into the production super sports car and what powers it.

Looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, but this is Tesla’s Flying Roadster!

The next-generation Tesla Roadster has been revealed with SpaceX-linked rocket thruster technology, taking the idea of an electric performance car in a rather unexpected direction. Tesla has also made some big performance claims, including a 0-60 mph time of under one second.

Production is planned for 2028, but the final specifications and how much of the flying technology makes it into the production car remain to be seen.

Mahindra has launched the XUV 3XO ZNG, its first mainstream CNG passenger vehicle, at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom)

- Priced from ₹9.99 lakh to ₹12.27 lakh (ex-showroom) across four variants: MX Edge, REVX Edge (O), AX5 and REVX A

- 1.2-litre turbo petrol (mStallion TCMPFi) makes 82 kW and 200 Nm in both CNG and petrol modes

- Mahindra says 200 Nm is the highest torque among CNG passenger cars in India

- Claimed 0-60 km/h in 4.9 seconds and 0-100 km/h in 11.8 seconds in CNG mode

- Certified efficiency of 24.7 km/kg, and it switches to petrol automatically when CNG runs low

- Twin CNG cylinders sit under the luggage area, so the boot floor stays flat with 270 litres of space, and the spare wheel stays under the body

- Even the base MX Edge gets a 26.03 cm touchscreen, cruise control, rear AC vents and a 60:40 split rear seat, while higher variants add Skyroof, twin 26.03 cm screens and, on the REVX A, Dolby Atmos audio

Toyota has launched the 2026 Glanza hatchback in India, with prices starting at ₹6.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

• Five grades: E at ₹6.99 lakh, S at ₹7.71 lakh, G at ₹8.73 lakh, V at ₹9.99 lakh and V(O) at ₹10.49 lakh

• Petrol: new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E engine making 61 kW and 112.4 Nm

• CNG: 51.3 kW and 101.8 Nm, now with an AMT option on CNG variants

• Design: Toyota’s global front-face look, a new grille with a chrome accent, side skirts, LED projector headlamps and a floating roof effect. Seven colours, including new Bluish Black and Digital Teal Green

• Cabin and tech: ventilated front seats, wireless charging, head-up display, dual-tone interior and a 22.86 cm Smart Playcast Pro touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto. Toyota i-Connect brings remote vehicle functions

Hyundai Motor Group has announced a USD 15.5 billion investment in India from 2026 through 2032. Executive Chair Euisun Chung discussed the plan with PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi on 13October, 2026.

• The money goes into manufacturing expansion, R&D, local supplier development and future mobility.

• Capacity will grow across Hyundai Motor India and Kia India. The Group currently has over 1.4 million units of annual capacity: Chennai (824,000), Pune (170,000) and Kia’s Anantapur plant (431,000). Pune will be scaled up in phases.

• About USD 700 million is planned for the Indian R&D centre, including its vehicle testing track.

• A dedicated investment entity will be set up in India to run the spending and find local suppliers and partners.

• Hyundai also plans to explore EV charging infrastructure, specialised auto financing and end-of-life vehicle recycling, and to back startups.

• The plan aims to make India one of the Group’s leading global export platforms. The Group already employs over 24,000 people in India.

Hyundai says the last 30 years were about building its base in India, and this investment covers the next 30. There are no product or model announcements in this release, so what the capacity actually builds is the thing to watch.

Renault has brought back the Espace name for the electric era. The E-Space Concept premiered at the 2026 Paris Motor Show as a tribute to the 1984 original, the car that started the MPV segment.

• It measures 4.70m long, 2.02m wide and 1.67m tall, on 23-inch wheels. Renault says the proportions echo the first Espace, with a low waistline and a windscreen that flows from the bonnet.

• The cabin is fully glazed, with a glass roof and side windows that run well below the waistline. Renault says it took cues from Bauhaus architecture.

• Double rear-hinged doors with no central pillar open to six individual seats on a flat floor. The row 2 seats swivel 180 degrees to face row 3.

• There is no conventional dashboard. A 1,130 x 110 mm screen called OpenR Panorama spans the cabin and is not touch-sensitive. The steering is steer-by-wire.

• The OpenR Panorama will carry over to production, with the next-generation Rafale and Scenic getting it first. That is the part of this concept you will actually see on the road.

• The cabin is done in shades of red with a 3 cm thick coral carpet. The tray tables use straw marquetry, and the floor is 100% wool.

• A sliding console holds an air purifier, a small fridge, game controllers and a Connect 4 set.

For India, there is no word on any Renault launch plan tied to this concept. But we are an MPV-friendly market, and a spacious, low-slung, glass-heavy family car is a very different pitch from the SUVs that dominate our showrooms.

The Citroën 2 CV is coming back, and this time it runs on electrons. The 2 CV Concept was unveiled at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, previewing a production car due by 2028.

• At 3.76 metres, it is shorter than the original 2 CV. Citroën calls this deliberate, for agility and easy parking.

• The weight target is around one tonne, which allows a smaller, more cost-effective battery. No range figure yet.

• Target price is around €15,000, built in Europe, positioned between the Ami and the C3.

• The design keeps the 2 CV’s round headlamps, vertical windscreen and black tailgate running down to the bumper. The Infra Red paint is orange with yellow and red highlights.

• Inside, there is no conventional dashboard. Controls hang off a central cylinder with a single-spoke wheel, an 8-inch square touchscreen, a fabric sunroof and a detachable “Radioën” speaker.

• Fun details include a tortoise and rabbit on the brake and accelerator pedals, and door pockets shaped to hold eggs.

For India, there is no word on a launch yet. But a compact, light EV with a sharp price target suits our city traffic and parking, and Citroën already sells the eC3 here.

MG Windsor INDULGE Edition launched at ₹17.88 lakh (ex-showroom).

The special edition gets a Shadow Gold exterior with a black roof, R-18 black alloy wheels and an Urban Tan and Black cabin theme. It also features a standard PRIVE Screen for rear passengers, along with premium pillows and neck cushions.

Power comes from a 38 kWh battery pack producing 136 PS and 200 Nm, with a certified range of 332 km.
