🍒The best cherry fragrance on the market - Jump Up And Kiss Me Hedonistic - @clivechristianperfumeDon’t get fooled by this dark blue bottle; Hedonistic is the ultimate cherry fragrance, hidden behind this royal blue glass.That being said, this is not a straightforward cherry like TF Lost Cherry, BTV Bodacious, HFC Wrap Me In Dreams or FDB Sirène. This fragrance has so much more to offer…Inspired by Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream”, Hedonistic is marketed as a smouldering aphrodisiac and, I might add, a true love potion.Accordingly, that love potion reveals certain boozy qualities right off the bat, with black cherry swirling around neroli, nutmeg, mate and a melange of zesty citruses, while a seamless metamorphosis into the heart uncovers intriguing notes of papyrus, t*bacco, leather and jasmine. At that stage the composition smells like a well-groomed man wearing an expensive Italian leather jacket while smoking a luxurious cherry t*bacco cigar. Beautiful mix of oris and cherry - Moroccan Iris - @lorgaparfumsparis I’ve tried Moroccan Iris way back in 2021. but I can vividly remember how it made me feel... And i was deeply impressed by its originality because, at that point, it was so different from all the other iris scents i’ve ever tried. Waxy, buttery oris, caressed by powdery violet and kissed by sour cherry note, felt so good and natural on my skin… But it turned out to be even more appealing after a delicate touch of cinnamon which showed up suddenly - like a breath of dry desert air, bringing in an unexpected, but much needed sweetness to this extraordinary blend. Sweet and dusty cinnamon was almost palpable, like a handful of warm sand that’s slowly slipping through your fingers, joined with the fruitiness from Séfrou cherry that lingered until the very end, firmly grounded by some powerful wooden undertones of Atlas Cedar. The drydown felt like one of the tales from 1001 Nights and it was painted in golden shades of amber. Even though it wasn’t listed, the note of amber was clearly present - with its unmistakable oriental aura, providing the composition with some depth and a dose of subtle mystery, while giving the cherry note fuller and darker aroma with a glimmer of smokiness, somewhere far in the background…Moroccan Iris is such a different take on cherry and iris. Really beautiful, rich and wonderfully balanced. With all that being said, Ambre Platine remains to be my favourite fragrance by the brand, but this powdery, sour/sweet and spicy, oriental creation still amazes me and i’m really grateful for having it in my collection.Have you tried this beauty? 💜- the bottle was kindly given by @rosalie_perfumes -She ended up with two bottles of Moroccan Iris and generously sent me one. It brings me instant emotional calmness and gives me a feeling of peace and security. Intoxicating guava scent - Delta Of Venus - @erisparfumsInspired by the Garden of Eden’s forbidden fruit, the perfumer Antoine Lie decided to create a guava accord, exclusively for this creation that smells utterly tempting…Almost as if you’re wondering through a divine tropical garden and getting whiffs of this suculent, exotic plant while it’s calling your name and inviting you to take a bite of its delicious fruit.The opening is very green. Slightly bitter and green note of galbanum dances around piercingly fresh and juicy grapefruit, while violet leaf adds a floating touch of ozonic, cucumber-like undertone.In a matter of minutes, a smell of green rainforest slowly transforms into a luscious, fruity-floral paradise. Guava accord smells like a natural and smooth concoction of mango, melone, peach and fig and feels like a somewhat underripe fruit that adds just enough sweetness to elevate the whole composition, just before you’re imperceptibly seduced by the carnal, nearly sinful aroma of jasmine sambac, obviously symbolizing the serpent in the Garden.This is unique and different take on tropical fragrance genre. Naxos’s younger metrosexual brother - JTC - 400 - @xerjoff JTC 400 is inspired by the exhilarating shopping atmosphere at Selfridges, at number 400 Oxford Street in London. 400 is a seductive scent, characterised by a radiant melange of citruses and white flowers, dipped in honey and white t*bacco, built on a solid vanilla foundation and supported by cedar, vetiver and patchouli.It all starts with a fresh burst of bitter orange, mandarin and bergamot, as a contrast to emerging warm sweetness of honey, that’s slowly dripping all over the orange blossom and ylang ylang petals, before it all melts into the sublime concoction of slightly indolic, honeyed white florals and very light, almost green nuances of blonde t*bacco. Luminous white florals are really shining through the golden drops of honeyed t*bacco, for hours to come, prior to settling into the smooth and velvety vanillic drydown of this alluring and long lasting composition.400 is unisex, floral heavy, feminine leaning fragrance, perfect for the colder weather.Longevity, projection and sillage are out of the roof and it takes a flashy character to pull it off. Cause, let’s face it, i’m no Highlander and i’m not gonna live forever. Anyhow, during the 2025. I’ve bought only a handful of fragrances because, lately, i tend to wear perfumes that I truly love - as often as possible. And even if i continued to do so for the rest of my life, i probably wouldn’t be able to empty even half of my bottles.Therefore I’ll stick to this plan in 2026. as well.Do I really need fragrances that are ok, nice or just - good? No, i don’t. There’s no point in chasing and trying every new release, either. It is a game you just cannot win. And, to be honest, i’m quite happy with what I’ve already got. So, Nefs for me today. New York 5th Avenue - Beautiful Christmas Holiday Scent - @fragranceduboisSnowy evening. Christmas lights everywhere. Dazzling Fifth Avenue windows. Rockefeller Center Tree.New York 5th Avenue is inspired by Christmas in New York and for a good reason. NYC is considered to be one of the most beautiful places in the world to spend the Christmas holidays. And the scent itself is delightful, however, your first impression might be misleading cause it opens like a rose-oud fragrance, but the fact is that there’s no oud in this composition and the “oud-y” accord is cleverly built by using an unusual combination of guaiac wood and cypriol.Thanks to bergamot, the note of rose smells quite fresh and dewy in the opening, but after a brief, initial freshness, indulgent note of caramel and powdery violet start to take over.As it develops, the composition becomes very opulent and gourmandy. Vanilla, cashmere wood and musk start to pop out, giving the rose almost an edible quality while making it less prominent, at the same time.Despite containing sweet notes of caramel and vanilla, 5th Avenue never becomes too cloying. Cypriol adds some green and earthy undertones while guaiac wood balances the caramelised, jammy rose with its dark, woody and smoky nuances, before it all mellows to a cosy, comforting musky-vanilla base that actually reminds me of Ani. 5th Avenue is often compared to Oud Satin Mood but Oud Satin Mood is much sweeter, more potent and sometimes even overpowering if sprayed more than once. Personally I prefer 5th Avenue because it’s much smoother and far more elegant. it smells warm, snuggly, festive and luxurious which makes it a quintessential Christmas holiday scent.
