Football has always been more than a game for @samrap10. As a kid, it was her alibi. Today, it’s her career—and her platform for change.

After playing professionally as a quarterback in Canada, Sam created her own path in the @NFL, where she launched the NFL Girls’ Flag Football Leadership Program, now sanctioned in 17 states.

Her mission goes beyond creating opportunities on the field. She is equally committed to championing women in leadership across football and the wider world of sports.

One head coach said yes 🙌

That’s all it took to start a ripple effect that’s now reached 12 women coaches across 3 NFL teams.

Now that we’re feeling the World Cup void - we look ahead to football season. Sam Rapoport shared the story behind the NFL Women’s Forum at PTTOW! 2026, and how starting with just ONE person who cared changed everything.

Ron Rivera said yes → hired the first Black woman to coach full-time in the NFL
His staff saw it work → hired 6 more women
Their staff saw that → hired 2 more

This is what change actually looks like. Not a mandate. A cascade. 🏈

How does @samrap10 accomplish so much? She doesn't wait for the "perfect" time to do something. Instead, she just does it.

Sam wants other women to adopt this mentality and stop feeling like something needs to be perfect to be done.

@samrap10 has always been focused on one mission: keeping flag football open and accessible to everyone.

That vision inspired her to launch the NFL Girls’ Flag Football Leadership Program in 2009. Instead of going directly to schools, the program gave girls the tools, confidence, and leadership to discover their love of the game.
