I’m always suggesting we go bigger but I promise there’s a good reason for it!

With cover ups, bigger really is better. More space means I can hide the old tattoo without relying on dark, heavy shading to do it.

It’s the little details that make a piece truly special. I love adding little unexpected touches to a design, these little trailing buds and petals are not the main subjects but they flow so beautifully over my client’s shoulder they ended up being my favourite part of the piece.

One of the best things about going bigger with your tattoo is that you can actually see what it is from across the room.

You get a strong overall composition that makes an impact from a distance, with all the little details to appreciate up close. It becomes a statement piece in its own right, rather than something you have to get up close to notice.

If your tattoo idea is more about a feeling or a vibe, going bigger gives us so much more room to create. We can build an entire whimsical scene and weave in all your favourite elements.

You don’t have to narrow your idea down to just one thing, we can bring the whole vision to life.

Think of a well-designed tattoo as a permanent accessory. The right piece can elevate even the simplest outfit.

And unlike your wardrobe, you never have to worry about outgrowing or losing your favourite piece ;)

A good tattoo isn’t just stuck on, it’s made to fit you. When a design follows the natural lines of your body it highlights your shape instead of fighting it, and that gives you even more reason to love it.

When we have more space we can add more subjects without the piece looking messy or cramped. I can’t even count how many times clients have come to me later and wanted to add more ideas to a piece to make it bigger. Trust me! You’ll be glad we planned it that way from the start.

I find my style a bit hard to describe sometimes, but I kind of love that it doesn’t fit neatly into a box. If you’re into vivid but soft florals and animals with a bit of whimsy, I’m probably your artist 🙋🏼‍♀️

I already take a lot of inspiration from nature when I’m designing tattoos, so naturally it’s one of my favourite places to look for colour palettes too. Sometimes I’ll come across a palette that’s so good it ends up inspiring an entire predrawn design.

A little look at how I approach a tricky cover-up, from start to finish.

Cover ups definitely involve a little a little compromise and some creative solutions, but I find them so rewarding to do because I love helping people feel comfortable showing off their tattoos again instead of hiding them.

But honestly, I love the process. There’s something so much more gratifying about watching a bigger piece come together over multiple sessions, especially when we can give it the space it needs to fit your body properly and add all those little details.

I’d always rather go a little bigger and make the most of the design than shrink it down just to fit it into one session (as much as I get excited to see it all finished).

I’d love to take on more large-scale projects 🖤

A lot of tattooing, a little bit of exploring, and a very good reminder of why I love doing what I do.
Here are some of my favourite pieces from the trip, plus a few bits of life in between 🤍
