POSTS STORIES REELS

First time in the last few years I didn’t celebrate Halloween or wear a mask or costume.

Entering Samhain instead, with enough energy to scare away the evil spirits and enough light to welcome the sun back in.
The symbols are there, if you know where to look.

With love,

Venus and Adonis
- Peter Paul Rubens, c. 1610

Venus, the goddess of love, tries to stop her beloved Adonis from leaving for the hunt. She knows the danger that awaits him, but neither she nor Cupid can persuade him to stay. Adonis leaves and is later killed by a wild boar — making this embrace their final goodbye.

Landscape with an Allegory of the Five Senses
- Abraham Govaerts, 1624

The five women represent the five senses: smell, taste, touch, hearing and sight. Flowers stand for smell, fruit tasted by a small monkey for taste, music and birds for hearing, while touch appears through physical contact. Sight is represented by the people looking directly at the painting itself — turning the artwork into part of its own allegory.

Wave
- Karl Hagemeister

Hagemeister was fascinated by the sea because he believed a wave could not simply be copied — paint it too literally and it would appear frozen. He studied the rhythm, transparency and movement of waves, then painted rapidly and instinctively, trying to capture the feeling of the sea in motion rather than a single frozen moment.

The painter’s studio

There was no name next to this one, but I loved it anyway. It shows the space where art is actually made, with canvases, brushes, sketches and objects scattered around the room. Seeing the process felt just as interesting as seeing the finished work. by @samrintumas

A luxury hotel that used to be a court of justice, leopard print I never thought I’d wear and, somehow, two stories that have more in common than expected.

The Wellem (@thewellem ) lives inside Düsseldorf’s former courthouse, giving a historic building an entirely new life. Leopard has had quite a reinvention of its own.

Once a symbol of status and power, it became an icon of 20th-century fashion, from Dior in 1947 to Marilyn and the glamour of the 50s.

Although my friend, obsessed with the East, will still argue that the Egyptian goddess Seshat wore it thousands of years before Dior.

And, ironically, she’ll be right.

Perhaps luxury has always been less about what is new, and more about what manages to remain relevant. 🤎

Few know that Casino Royale’s Montenegro was actually Karlovy Vary.

Grandhotel Pupp @grandhotelpupp became Hotel Splendide, with other scenes filmed around Kaiserbad and the Mill Colonnade.

Almost 20 years later, you can still walk through the same places, although slightly renovated. Loved the city, it has this mix of old-world elegance and cinematic nostalgia. 🍸

i turned 26 on may 20th, and honestly it took me a few days to even decide if i wanted to post about it.
i wasn’t sure. wasn’t sure if it would resonate, wasn’t sure if i was ready to share, wasn’t sure how to put it all into words.
but here it is.
these are some of the lessons i wanted to write down before i forget them. the ones i would hand to the little girl on slide 2 if i could.
if you’re standing at the edge of a leap right now, this one is for you 🤍
save it. send it to the friend who needs it. or just sit with it for a moment.
and to the few who somehow stayed near me through every version of myself, thank you. you mean more than you know.
here’s to 26, and everything still ahead ✨
