The time has come for me to tell you about Take Leave, my new album out August 28 on @ruinationrecordco . Today you can hear the first single, “To Everything There Is A Ceiling” and watch its fun music video.

What can I say? My brilliant friend @_not_person_ and I spent last year pouring our hearts into this music. It is very special to me. I am also grateful to @sofiawolfson and @youandtheblossom for singing on the record.

I really can’t wait for you all to hear these songs. I hope you enjoy.

Sam Sodomsky has been making records as The Bird Calls since he was 13. Twenty years later, the goal isn’t to make more of them. It’s to get closer to the thing.
On 'Take Leave', Sodomsky talks about writing through dissatisfaction, learning when not to release a song, finding humor inside sadness, working with producer Ryan Winer and why the music surrounding a lyric matters just as much as the words themselves.
“The goal of it for me is to make it and to keep myself interested and to keep myself proud.”
