There is something incredibly humbling about returning to the foundations of your craft.

Today I swapped the studio for the dye vats and spent the day immersed in the beautiful, centuries-old art of batik. From carving stamps and preparing resists to waxing, dyeing and watching each piece slowly reveal itself, it was a timely reminder that great design begins with process, patience and curiosity.

No matter how many collections you’ve created or runways you’ve walked, there is always something new to learn.

As I continue developing the next chapter for SOBOYE, I want to deepen my understanding of the traditional techniques that have inspired generations of African textile makers. Honouring heritage while reimagining it for a contemporary audience has always been at the heart of what I do.

A huge thank you to Massassi B and everyone at the workshop for so generously sharing your knowledge, your passion and your craft. I left inspired… and with plenty of ideas already brewing. Keeping it moving…

FLASHBACK FRIDAY.

Sometimes the best way to see how far you’ve come… is to look back.

These images span different seasons, different collections, different runways, different ideas and different chapters of the journey. Every look represents a lesson learned, a risk taken, a problem solved, a dream pursued and another step towards becoming the designer, creative & educator and advocate I am called to be...

Looking back, I’m reminded that success is rarely one defining moment. It’s built through consistency, resilience, countless late nights, moments of self-doubt, unexpected opportunities and the people who believed in the vision long before everyone else could see it.

To every model, photographer, stylist, make-up artist, hair artist, artisan, assistant, student, collaborator, client, mentor, friend and family member who has walked this journey with me… thank you. Your talent, trust, encouragement and belief have all left their mark on SOBOYE.

The journey is far from over.I’m only just getting started.

Here’s to honouring the past, embracing the present and creating an even bolder future.

Soboye pre-AFWL shoot…21st August 2026.

Yesterday wasn’t just about creating images—it was another step on the journey to Africa Fashion Week London 2026, where I’ll be celebrating my 10th anniversary on the AFWL runway.

Twenty looks. Countless details. Endless fittings, styling, adjustments and creative conversations. Here is a little glimpse of behind the scenes of the work that goes into bringing a collection to life. The hustle is REAL !

Fashion is never just the final photograph… it’s the people, the process and the passion that make the picture possible. A heartfelt thank you to my incredible glam team: @makeupbyhelen @lunarstar8 , Charlie , my photographer @ketsugistreet and every model who showed up and absolutely brought their A-game. This was the 1st fashion shoot most of them had been on; adding to the frisson of the day… A special mention goes out to Autumn, our fashion dog. She made a special appearance and enhanced the images😍

Pulling out all the stops to make this a standout collection- This is only the beginning…

Monday night’s opening of Hassan Hajjaj’s new exhibition at Sotheby’s brought together artists, designers, collectors and creatives from every corner of London’s cultural landscape.

It was wonderful catching up with old friends, making new connections and celebrating an artist whose work continues to challenge conventions while joyfully celebrating identity, fashion and contemporary African culture.

A brilliant evening celebrating the opening of Hassan Hajjaj’s latest exhibition at Sotheby’s.

Always inspiring to see so many creatives, collectors, old friends and new faces brought together by the power of art. Full circle moment.
First time at the @premiermodels Annual Summer Party last week, and it was so good to catch up with founder Chris. We were genuinely pleased to see each other.
He and the agency were so supportive early on in my career when I was just a student finding my way in the industry. Some of my favourite pictures to this day were shot with his wife Huggy, who shoots such fabulous images.
That early support meant everything, so it felt special to be back in the room to celebrate with you all. Thank you to the whole Premier family for the warmest welcome.
