POSTS STORIES REELS

In this clip from 🍁 The Eh List featuring Sam Thiara, he shares something worth sitting with.
ㅤ
When he was younger, Sam wanted to change the world. But the older he got, the more frustrated he became because the world is complicated. So his approach shifted. Instead of trying to change the world through his own eyes and how he thinks things should be, he started focusing on changing it through the people he helped.
ㅤ
That reframe is everything. You do not have to fix the whole picture. You just have to show up for the people in front of you and let the ripple effect do the rest. The world changes one person at a time, and usually through someone who never made it about themselves.

🎙️ Today’s episode of The Eh List 🍁 is live!

Today’s guest, @samthiara , is an adjunct professor at @sfubeedie and the founder of Ignite the Dream Coaching and Consulting. His career started with 86 rejection letters and a job mopping hospital floors, and it’s now spanned 22 years at SFU building student engagement from the ground up, 26 years as a founding mentor with the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s Leaders of Tomorrow program, work on the Vancouver Olympic bid, and roughly 5,500 one-on-one conversations with everyone from high school students to CEOs 🧩

In this episode, Sam breaks down why leadership is not a title but a question of whether anyone chooses to follow you, why he’d rather talk about relationship building than networking, and why he pushes people to figure out who they are before what they want to do. We also get into his CARE framework, his anchor points and intentional pausing practice, the leaf, the stick, and the stream, and the blank puzzle piece he’s handed out over 5,000 times around the world.

Whether you’re a student figuring out your first move, a leader rethinking how you show up for your team, or someone who’s collected a few rejection letters of your own, this episode will change how you think about the journey

We are told to seek out our passion and it leads you to fulfillment. Unfortunately, passion cannot be sustained and you need to see passion as an igniter to discovering your purpose. If you embrace two key elements of intentional pausing and the anchor points that become your foundation in life and career, slowly, your purpose will reveal itself. by @samthiara

Acknowledgement, recognition and awards are best served when your actions come to light and you are tapped on the shoulder and receive such an honour from someone who is watching. To receive recognition is not a conclusion to your impact but a reminder to continue to do more. The work you do, you feel is small and maybe not noticed, but it makes a difference to those you serve. by @samthiara

We really can be whatever ever we want to be in life and career; however, realizing what you want to be starts with realizing who you are. Upcoming post will help! by @samthiara

One can always be visible, and that is fine…but how does one become memorable? That is the most important part. Check out https://www.sam-thiara.com/blog/2025/04/18/dont-just-be-visible-be-memorable/ by @samthiara

The road to your success may be paved with the bricks that guide you…or, those bricks might be the wall that hold you back. The object are bricks but how they are placed will be what determines your success. by @samthiara

As another year closes and one opens,
May you have a memorable year ahead,
May you celebrate many successes,
May you overcome any obstacles with grit,
May you surround yourself with amazing souls,
May you have engaging conversations,
May you experience changes that ignite you,
May you discover talents that you were not aware of,
May you travel and explore far off places,
May you know that you are appreciated,
May we meet soon!

Happy New Year to you all! Thank you for a year balanced with setbacks and successes where the greater weight was on the positive side. by @samthiara

This time of year is about taking time for yourself through the hustle and bustle. Relax - this time of season can be overwhelming and you have had a full year. Reflect - take the time to look back at the year and see what you did and appreciate the successes and learn from the setbacks. Recharge - get ready for the coming year and emerge strong! by @samthiara
