oh man…..i truly hate when this day comes around. the words never get easier. so, in the immortal words of green day, “like my fathers come to pass, seven years has gone so fast.” ❤️‍🩹 by @samthroughlife

a few years ago, i did not think this day would ever come. i didn’t think i would ever go back to school, let alone graduate or even walk on stage after my name was called. but it did! and i am so happy! thank you for anyone who has supported me along my journey, it means the world to me!

my college adventure began at pace university in the heart of new york city where i lived on my own for the first time and set out to become a teacher. everything changed in my third year when i lost my father unexpectedly. grief, a global pandemic, and my own mental health struggles forced me to step away from school. this difficult chapter opened my eyes to the importance of mental health and inspired me to return to school, this time with a new passion for psychology. i earned my associate’s degree at bergen community college and, nearly a decade after i started college for the first time, finally achieved my bachelor’s in psychology from william paterson. my journey proves that education has no expiration date and that it is always possible to begin again.
