[EN] Sibling relationships are, at their best, the longest relationships in our lives. We have known our siblings for as long as we can remember, growing up together and sharing countless moments with them. We get to experience both the beautiful and the difficult times side by side, and we are automatically authentic. We are simply our true selves, without having to worry about how we appear to each other. To me it's beautiful to know that I get to share my entire life with my siblings. Right now, I am very grateful for all the wonderful people by our side with whom we get to grow older and eventually become old.

[DE] Geschwister Beziehung sind im besten Fall die längsten Beziehungen in unserem Leben. Wir kennen unsere Geschwister seit wir denken können, werden zusammen groß und teilen unzählige Momente mit ihnen. Wir dürfen mit ihnen durch schöne und durch schwere Zeiten gehen und sind dabei ganz automatisch authentisch. Wir sind einfach unsere vorwiegendes ich, ohne sich dabei Gedanken machen zu müssen wie man auf sein Gegenüber wirkt.
Ich finde den Gedanken wunder schön zu wissen dass ich mit meinen Geschwistern mein ganzes Leben teilen darf. Gerade bin ich sehr dankbar für all die tollen Menschen an unserer Seite mit denen wir gemeinsam älter und irgendwann alt werden dürfen.

Hiking on the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu seemed much more appreciative to me, instead of taking a train from Cusco. Through the hike I got to see more of the surrounding and it's a rewarding goal that’s waiting at the end of the hike. I was collaborating with Quechuas Expeditions and in exchange for content of the Trek I was able to enjoy their Sky Lodge Dome to stay overnight.

A friend of mine is going on a sabbatical. We met at the beginning of my journey, when I was on my way to cross the Atlantic, and now, two years later, she has let me know that she was inspired by the way I travel. She has decided to take four months off to embark on her own backpacking adventure. I am so thankful for her message and for letting me know how I played a part in the beginning of her great journey.

I felt a bit like at home at the Salkantay Trek. Up in the mountains with fresh temperatures. Except that the mountains are much higher than in Germany. The first time I climbed the highest mountain in Germany (Zugspitze 2962m), it was like a small mission with my friend. Walking over a glacier and climbing a via ferrata. At the top, we noticed breathing got heavier as the air got thinner. When walking the Salkantay Trek, I didn’t know how high it was until I saw the sign at the top which said 4600m. I was absolutely flabbergasted (one of my favorite words I picked up from my American host dad, David). First, I thought the sign must be wrong. I haven’t been on a mountain that high before. And breathing was actually no problem. But the sign was correct, which discombobulated me even more (one of my favorite words I picked up from a friend in Ireland).

In the following days, I will give more impressions of the Salkantay Trek. Leave me your favorite word below if you want, so I can extend my list of favorite English words. :)

“Monstruo del río” Thats what they call the Pirarucu. One of the largest fresh water fish on earth. Here in the Amazon region, it lives in the rivers. I met a farmer who keeps them as pets. They can grow to over 2 meters.

I was exited like at my first flight. Apia Parapente Extrem invited my to take Pictures and make a video for them. A red classy jeep picked me up to go up to their private hill, the gateway into the air. We flew through the clouds till the Coffee Region of Colombia made itself visible below us. When we landed we stopped a collective car to get us back to Apia. It was completely full so we sat on the top of the car letting our feet hanging down on the windshield. After 1 km the car broke down. I was expecting that another car would come to get all the people or that some one would stress out because they get late to some appointment. I was wrong. Everybody stayed calm, joked with each other and helped the driver to fix the car so we all together can keep going.

My second paragliding flight!!! My first one was also on my travels when I was still in Italy. This time it was at a small town called Apia in the Coffee Region of Colobia. A family, who I meet during my stay at Levit Glamping in Guatape, invited me to stay with them at their farm in Apia. They showed me how they harvest and process the Cafe. I'm not a Coffee drinker but I was very interested in the whole process from planting the seeds, to drying and sorting, all the way to the actual hot cup of coffee. And believe it or not. I drank my first full cup of coffee there in Columbia.

I was really tired in the morning and didn't want to get out of bed, it was so cold and still sooo cozy in bed. But there is no other way, I was invited by a hotel to take photos and the morning atmosphere at this lake is always particularly impressive. There is a little hut in the middle of the bay to which you can kayak to. I fly around it with my drone. Afterwards, I accompany a small group on a hike offered by the hotel. Getting up early is great. (Sometimes) I've already taken photos, kayaked, hiked and it's only nine o'clock. It's cool work when you get accommodation and food for nice photos. I'm always very grateful when someone puts a plate of food in front of me. The drone is feeding me at the moment and I've also got some really nice photos for myself. But today it was a bit stressful when I was filming a bungalow and the drone hit the ceiling when it went into return mode because the battery was empty. Luckily, only three rotor blades splitted. It's a fine line to walk. It would be really bad without a drone. It just costs so much. But it's just worth it. So many opportunities to get to places and take great shots. And important for the future if I ever want to talk about my trip and make a nice presentation.

Medellin. We know the stories. But for me it was one of the nicest cities I've been to. Energetic young people, events on every corner, and I love it when you can go out for dinner and pay 2.5 for a good, big meal :). Medellin scares a lot of people away, but they have made a great effort to decriminalize the city. I never felt unsafe. History is full of fear, so I found it very encouraging to see the residents rejoice at how much better it is now, and how they are motivated to make their city even more of a showpiece, as through peace negotiations, education and visual improvements, a city is decriminalized and transformed into a beautiful place to live.
