We are so happy to share with you a piece of our dance at the final of @salsanama_italia from yesterday.

As many of you know Salsanama is a world famous competition for improvisation and this year they opened for the first time the category “Impro Social Couple” where you get a random partner, a random song and you need to improvise.

After battles with amazing dancers from all the world we made it to the finals and I was so lucky to share this with Sasha. An incredible dancer and beautiful human being that I discovered this weekend. She is 🔥

I will do a deeper post about my experience at Salsanamá but just wanted you to see how much fun we had in the finals.

Thanks to every person who supported us, to every one who was sending me whatsapps while watching it online and to all the partners I dance with (you made my victory possible).

Big up for @_carolina.sosa___ & @mirkoamati_ they battled in the final against us and they did an amazing show 🤘🏻

Thanks to the judges for their nice words, for their expressive faces during my performances (this made my day 🫶🏻).
Most of them have been an inspiration for me since I started dancing when I was 16 years old….🫣

And of course thanks to @fernandososa_tropicalgem for putting this together and showing the world a contest where the important point is the improvisation in Salsa ❤️

When the universe decides to choreograph the moment and hands you the perfect punchline ✨

Mid-combo, Anna’s watch flies off. I already knew the track inside and out—I knew that exact “Perdóname” was coming. The accident happened, the lyric was loading, and in a split-second decision, I leaned straight into the emotion of the song to ask for forgiveness right on cue.

That’s the crazy thing about the universe: it conspires, drops an unexpected variable in front of you, and challenges you to weave it into the art. Being able to understand the lyrics gives you an entirely different dimension on the floor; you stop just counting beats and start storytelling in real time.

Moments like this only come alive when the stars align: the right place, the right track, and the right human being. Anna, from the very first time we danced, your connection, flow, and presence blew me away. Loved creating with these two, two of the references of the new Salsa generation, extremely talented dancers and beautiful human beings 💜

I love how recently the market is opening up for new talent creating space for everyone at events and festivals.
I think that was something Salsa was lacking and I am so happy to see this changing.

Giving opportunities to new faces will make our scene grow a lot, of course while respecting the people who opened the paths and that are still working hard and updating themselves 🫶🏻

Demo Trio 🔥
Zero rehearsals, 100% spontaneous 💣

I didn’t have a demo partner yesterday at Caldac, so I randomly pulled Mari and Corina—two follows attending the workshop—to film an improvised salsa trio on the spot.

The crazy part? I had barely ever danced with them (just one social dance each over a year ago) and never together. There’s always that split second of “What if this goes completely wrong on camera?”, but taking risks is part of the fun 🤗

Their technique and connection were so high-level that everything flowed effortlessly.
Master the mechanics, and you earn the freedom to create in real time 🤯

Huge thanks to everyone who packed the class, big respect to Mari & Corina for trusting the madness and stepping up and kudos to @newsparxmedia for his incredible work 💜

Myrto and Samuel - Demo 🔥

Is the follower’s role in Salsa meant to be silent, or are we finally ready to give them the mic? 🎤 👇

I had long talks with @myrtomisyri about the evolution of the follower’s voice in modern Salsa.
We both agree the next generation of dancers deserves a culture where following isn’t just about passive execution—it’s about active musical expression and co-creation on the floor.

Creating this shift takes effort from both sides. Followers need to actively claim that creative space, but leaders hold the key: we have to intentionally build a safe, open environment where the follower feels empowered to pitch ideas through movement without being overridden.

If you watch this demo closely, you’ll see Myrto proposing musical accents and textures in real time. My job wasn’t to correct or ignore her—it was to catch her ideas, amplify them, and give her voice room to breathe. To me, that dynamic conversation is the true future of Salsa 🧡💜

I know the purists will call this “sacrilege” and say it’s not real Salsa. Just like they complain about stepping off the traditional 1-2-3 5-6-7 structure to express the instruments, or wearing baggy clothes instead of a suit.

Honestly? I don’t care. I stand by my vision and the evolution of this art form.

Sharing this demo with Myrto was truly special. Not only because I admire and feel inspired by the work she and @panagiotis_aglamisis are doing, but because I have seen her evolution since 2010 or so. And how she has become one of the referents in the scene with talent and hard work 🤘🏻

IS THIS LOVE? 🥹❤️‍🩹

There are embraces that can not be described with words…
This was one of them 🥲

Back in 2017, @irenesilvia.dancer was my dance partner, and Madrid Zouk Bachata Congress was the very first Zouk event I ever walked into as a student, nervous and wide-eyed.

Sharing the stage for the final edition of this legendary congress—teaching and dancing alongside the boss herself—wasn’t just a demo. It was closing a circle of life, growth, and gratitude that I never imagined I’d complete🫣

Saying goodbye to a dream you’ve poured your entire soul into is heartbreaking. I know intimately the weight, the sacrifice, and the relentless love that @williamandirene_dancers put into building this space and nurturing the Madrid Zouk community from the ground up 👏🏻

They are the reason I fell hopelessly in love with Brazilian Zouk in the first place. But far beyond being my mentors and teachers, they are my home. My safe haven. My family. What I’ve learned from them goes way beyond dance—it taught me how to move through life ✨

Dancing this version of Bob Marley’s “Is This Love” broke something open inside me ❤️‍🩹

Anyone who knows me knows how much I need to dance the lyrics, letting every syllable guide each breath and movement. And the message could not be truer: what this world desperately needs is just more love 💜
The exact unconditional, healing love that Irene, @williamteixeira.dancer , and this beautiful community gave to me from day one 🤗

Thank you for opening your hearts, your art, and your lives to me. This chapter may be coming to an end, but the light you planted in all of us will never fade equipo! 🫶🏻

Managing the rhythm of teaching, travel, and content isn’t always easy, and this video ended up sitting in the vault for a full year 🫢

This collab for me is an honor, Alex is someone whose creative mind I deeply admire—I’ve drawn so much inspiration and taken so many ideas from his work over time. Most people know him as an absolute reference in Bachata, but seeing and feeling that same flow and fire when he steps into #Salsa is incredible.
