May and June have been an absolute blur but have left me full of so much love and gratitude.

I married my best friend, hiked some amazing hikes, ate so much good food, dug up some of the coolest rocks I’ve ever found, and added a new addition to the Karlovec-Lyons family.

Happy summer, happy #Pride, and happy lives full of love to one and all. by @samurai_lyons

⁣Did a lot of neat things in 2025 but I also read a lot of good books. These five took the cake! ⠀
⠀
⠀
1. #TheTraitorBaruCormorant is a MUST for queer fiction/fantasy lovers and left me absolutely floored with the ending. The story is brilliantly written and Baru’s queerness adds to the narrative in such a unique and high stakes way.
⠀
⠀
2. #WatershipDown may be the most intense and well written kids book of all time and the only book that actually made me cry this past year. ⠀
⠀
⠀
3. #MyDarlingDreadful thing was such a delightfully visceral experience. You can’t go wrong with queer horror, and it left me thinking about it for weeks after I finished it. ⠀
⠀
⠀
4. #HeirofFire snuck in right at the end. Everything weaved together so seamlessly over the final chapters and it had some very moving dialogue. Can’t wait to finish the series in 2026. ⠀
⠀
⠀
5. I never read memoirs, but #Sociopath had me absolutely engrossed. A must for those that enjoy a little ~recreational~ true crime. by @samurai_lyons
