It’s a GOOD day to adopt a shelter pet 🧡🐶🍂

SNIPSA celebrated 14 adoptions yesterday at Dogtober with @sanantonioacs! So many happy tails and folks eager to support our city’s mission of saving lives, one dog or cat at a time. We enjoyed sharing our love for animals with you among the pumpkins, live music, vendors, crafts, and delicious treats. ✨ We are so grateful to all of the staff and volunteers who made it possible for us to join in the festivities.

SNIPSA is not in attendance today, but Dogtober is still going on all day today until 6 p.m. at Camargo Park! If you haven’t already, please come enjoy the beautiful weather, and maybe take home a pumpkin or two. 🎃 Stay tuned for the final adoption numbers from Animal Care Services. 🐾

Meet Blue! If you’re the kind of person who never runs out of reasons to celebrate, Blue might just be your perfect match!

Blue is a sweet, silly boy who brings his own kind of sunshine wherever he goes. Once he’s out enjoying the fresh air, his goofy side really starts to shine. He loves rolling around in the grass, wiggling his way into your attention, and collecting as many pets as you’re willing to give. And trust us, there’s no such thing as too much affection when it comes to this boy! Blue is happiest when he has someone by his side to share the moment with, whether that means getting showered in compliments or simply spending some quality time together.

One of the best ways to win Blue over? Let him know just how wonderful he is! This boy appreciates a little extra enthusiasm, and a cheerful voice and some sweet words can go a long way toward bringing out his happy personality. He deserves someone who will celebrate the little things with him, encourage him as he grows more comfortable, and remind him that he has so much to be proud of. After all, life is a lot more fun when you have someone in your corner rooting for you!

We know Blue has so much love to give, and we would love nothing more than to see him find a person who appreciates all the silly, affectionate moments that make him special. Someone who will make time for grass-rolling adventures, never turn down an opportunity for extra pets, and tell him he’s a good boy just because he deserves to hear it. Blue is ready for a fresh start with someone who will help him feel loved, safe, and celebrated for exactly who he is.

Could you be the person he’s been waiting for? by @sanantonioacs

A huge thank you to @redwing for donating shoe boxes that we can put to good use as enrichment for our pups! We’re incredibly appreciative of their generosity and the thought they put into helping provide the dogs in our care with fun ways to stay active, curious, and mentally engaged. Donations like this may seem simple, but they can make a big difference in a dog’s day!

One of the ways we use these boxes is by turning them into what we like to call “busy boxes.” We fill them with newspaper, treats, food, and sometimes toys, creating a simple enrichment activity that encourages dogs like Lila A825276 to use their noses and natural foraging instincts. They get to sniff, dig, rip, and search through the box to discover the goodies hidden inside, making treat time a little more engaging!

If you’d like to help us keep the enrichment going, you can donate supplies through @saacsinfo/enrichment. Donations can be mailed or dropped off in person, and every contribution helps us create more enriching experiences for the animals in our care.

Thank you for helping us keep our pups happy, busy, and engaged! by @sanantonioacs
