Another #video dump. #Berlin wasn't all dark clubs, dark music and people dressed in black from midnight till morning for me. I was out and about in the daytime too (who needs sleep while on holiday?) 🤷‍♀️ #Superchill #sunset by the #Spree, next to #EastSideGallery - the long stretch of the #BerlinWall covered by 100+ artists' #graffitiart, before uh, walking back to the hotel to rest up for Day 5 of the music festival at 11pm.

What happens when my German #hikingbuddy and I are in each other’s towns. Always a 5-8hr #hike, followed by a big feed. On this day it was brunch at Galaxis (look how much bigger my salad bowl was!) before entering the the #GreenCorridor somewhere near Star Vista, then walking till evening while catching up on each other’s stories… and I’m not sure which is more fucked up – the topics we talk about with no one to hear us for miles, or the fact that we only ever talk about them in third person because we think it’s funny – hence my comment in the video.

In the #studio with Headless Horseman (@headlesstechno), #Berlin trip 2018. 🤗 I was lucky enough to make it there a second time in 2019, to #preview the tracks that would go into the long-awaited, #cinematic new #album that came out in 2020 and kept me sane, alongside so much good music released that year and also this year so far.

The key in life is to do something just once, so you know you can do it again. 💪 Made this when I was at the peak of looking after myself, 2 months before descending upon Europe in 2019 – the last big trip before Rona struck. Now that I’m taking 2-2.5 months off work, it’s time for another #hardreset. Not that I have anywhere to go this time. This time, my reset is to undo the damage that more than a year of #WFH has caused, and have it be sustainable for the long run. Knowing very well that if I don’t make the process actually enjoyable, I’m less likely to stick to it. Because ultimately I’m all about enjoying everything that I do. I will only do things that I genuinely enjoy, one way or another, as always. #selfcare #hittinggoals #inmykitchen

Haven’t posted in a year, so this is my #2020 “shitshow in a #slideshow” to help me look back, in #chronological order: Jan 5th - Waking up in #NZ to eerie orange skies from Australia’s fires. 5 days later, I was standing in front of a giant #redwood ring, cut from a tree that had been around since the signing of the Magna Carta and The Black Death. #Coincidence? Of course it was. Back in SG - Cutting my dad’s hair before he flew back to NZ, and just in time. #Healthylunches every damn day at my work desk in early March. Then travelling the world through home-cooked #comfortfood during #lockdown. Health scares from too much sitting and WFH - 2 MRI’s, dodgy meds dodged like bullets in The Matrix, and weeks of physio.

Also, supporting small businesses and favourite musicians via #Bandcamp Days and fundraisers. Hours of rock, opera, #synth, and electro, alongside my usual staple of #techno. #Reconnecting with friends across the globe while checking in on them. Making new friends through the mutual love of #music and, uh, other overlapping interests. Letting superficial connections fall by the wayside for more meaningful ones. Despite remaining in what was essentially a 1-person covid bubble all year, I felt more connected, not less, to the world.

And while all those crazy solo trips to Europe in the past few years seemed excessive at the time, they prepared me for these past few months like no other. Aside from ensuring I wasn’t restless from being stuck in one place, they made me more self-reliant, more mentally resilient, and gave me clarity on who and what are my peace-givers, as opposed to peace-disruptors, and that’s what imma carry forward into #2021. TL;DR 🙅: Making the most out of a bad situation is everything. Happy new year!

“Look how far you’ve come,” my guide said, when we reached an #elevation of 820ft in record time, thanks to my overly keen ass being the only person on the #Meteora cave hike - so it pretty much became a glorious private tour. #Kalambaka was my final stop out of a total of 12, and it finally felt like a real #holiday. Lovely people, amazing taverna food, challenging hikes (I hiked up from the towns on both days, with a guide on the first and alone via a different trail on the second - this shot is from the second day), #majestic #monasteries, and of course, #epic #views. Easily the most fulfilling, satisfying time I've had in my week in #Greece. Thanks, @melmakesmagic for recommending it!
