I am beyond humbled to receive an email today to say I’ve been nominated for the 2025 “Dance Teacher Of The Year Award” at the 2nd Annual Dance School Awards! @thedanceschoolawards 🙏❤️

I was privileged enough to be awarded this same award last year in 2024 and to be nominated again this year is just such an honour!

My thank you goes to @thedanceschoolawards for the nomination and an even bigger thank you to every single person I’ve been lucky enough to teach!

Teaching is what I call my calling and I’ve been so privileged to do a job I love so much! This is just the icing on the cake! 🍰

Can’t wait to attend the red carpet award ceremony on 14 September at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London!

Dear Sander,

I honestly don’t even know where to begin—there are truly no words big enough to express how deeply thankful I am for everything you’ve done for me. Your guidance, your wisdom, your unwavering support—it’s all meant more than I could ever say. You’ve not only taught me so much as an artist, but you’ve shaped me as a person. You’ve stood by me through every challenge, every high and low, and never once let me doubt myself.

Thank you for constantly pushing me to grow—not just in technique, but in confidence. Thank you for seeing potential in me when I couldn’t, for reminding me that I’m capable, and for always encouraging me to reach higher. Because of you, I’ve discovered a stronger, more fearless version of myself. And that gift is something I will carry with me forever.

You’ve been my biggest cheerleader during one of the most intense and important seasons of my life. Audition season was tough and extremely competitive but knowing you were in my corner made all the difference. I know without a doubt that I wouldn’t have earned my spot at RBS if it weren’t for your constant belief in my abilities and potential and your heartfelt investment in my journey. You gave me strength when I needed it most.

These 18 months at BBS have been some of the most incredible, unforgettable moments of my life. I’ve laughed, Ive cried ,I’ve learned, I’ve grown, and I’ve created memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life. And at the heart of it all—you were there. You helped make this time magical. I truly carry every moment in my heart.

I will miss you so much next year. It’s hard to even imagine what it will feel like without seeing you everyday. You are such a special person, and your impact on my life is something I will always be grateful for. Thank you for believing in me, for being you, and for giving so much of yourself to your students. I’m just so lucky to have had you as a mentor.

That is our 2026 Senior Summer Intensive ☑️

What an incredible end to an amazing week!

Today we held our “Open Day” at our Senior Intensive!

Firstly, thank you to all the participants for all your hard work this week! Seeing you grow as dancers this week has been amazing! What a lovely group of talented dancers!!!

Day 5 of our Senior Summer Intensive in London ☑️

We are so proud of all the students hard work over the last 5 days and we can’t wait for our Senior Summer Intensive Open Day tomorrow from 10:00-17:00 at @liftislington 😍

The open day is for everyone who wants to come and have a look at what we have been working on all week!

We have the amazing @imperfectpointes and @balletskirts_by_lucinda coming with a pop up shop 😍

As every year, if you are coming to watch the open day, we will be asking £10 for every observer on the day. We do this, so we can create a little scholarship pot for scholarships we hand out on the last day of the course to participants to come back next year on a scholarship. If you are coming to our open day, please bring the £10 in cash with you 🙏❤️

Day 4 of our Senior Summer Intensive in London ☑️

Today we had the incredible @balletschoolphotographer in today to capture a day in our Summer Intensive 📸

The students had the opportunity to capture a few fun poses and here is a glimpse behind the scenes!

All participants will be sent a link with all the photographs by email after the intensive!

Today we also started running the whole bluebird pas de deux (pas de deux, female variation, male variation and coda) and the students are really getting there on day 4! Ready to perform the whole pas de deux on Saturdays Open Day!

Day 3 of our Senior Summer School ☑️

Today the students worked with Benjamin Ella, Camille Bracher and Sander Blommaert!

Today the boys got a real insight into the bluebird solo from Benjamin who performed this with the Royal Ballet, not just technical feedback, but some key information on where in the solo to breath and tips on getting through that short but very stamina demanding solo!

The afternoon consisted on putting together the bluebird pas de deux and coda ready for the participants to perform the whole bluebird pas de deux on our open day this Saturday! (Pas de deux, male variation, female variation and coda!)

Tomorrow we have the amazing @balletschoolphotographer coming in to capture the day ❤️📸

A reminder that on Saturday both @imperfectpointes and @balletskirts_by_lucinda will be coming to @liftislington with a pop up shop! So if you are in the area and want to come and have a look at our open day or come to shop, all welcome!

Day 1 of our 2026 Senior Ballet Summer Intensive in London☑️

What an amazing group of talented and selected dancers we get to work with this week!

Here is a glimpse into day 1 of this six days senior course.

This week the participants will have the opportunity to learn from Sander Blommaert, Camille Bracher and Benjamin Ella and will be working on refining their classical ballet technique as well as working on the Bluebird Pas De Deux (Full Pas de deux, both variations and the Coda) to be showcased on our open day coming up this Saturday!

We are so excited to be welcoming and working with students from 🇬🇧 🇧🇪 🇫🇷 🇳🇿 🇺🇸 🇨🇭this week!

At BBS, we aim to provide the best training and auditions support to all of our students.

This starts of course with the training and supporting our students both mentally and physically so they can go into their auditions feeling their best but also providing BBS’s own Professional Ballet Audition Photoshoot weekends in collaboration with @balletschoolphotographer and professionally filming audition videos!

And just like that it’s end end of our 2025-2026 academic year at BBS!

What a year it has been!

I should start by thanking my incredible team who amaze me every day with their incredible professionalism, support and love towards all of our students!

Secondly, thank you to every student that worked with BBS this year, our full timers, our weekly students, our zoom students and our ballet on demand students! Thank you for letting us be a part of your dancing journeys!

It’s been an incredibly challenging year personally but I am proud of myself for showing up every day and being there for my students! Thank you to everyone for your understanding and love! ❤️

Now it’s time for a busy summer of BBS Summer Intensives, lots of private coaching during my weeks at home and some international guest teaching!

All I can say is thank you and I can’t wait for September and start the new school year!

Blommaert Ballet School London Summer Intensives!!! ☀️

Last few weeks to book your place!!!

2026 Senior Summer Intensive Week:

This 6 days course will be from 20-25 July 2026 and 10:00-17:00 daily. Age 15+

2026 Junior Summer Intensive Week:

The 5 days course will be from 3-7 August 2026 and 10:00-17:00 daily. Ages 12-15

2026 Mimi’s Summer Intensive Week:

This 4 days course will be from 10-13 August 2026 and 10:00-17:00 daily. Ages 9-11

Our 3 weeks of summer intensives will take place at @liftislington (2 minutes walk from Angel Underground Station in London) with an ALL Royal Ballet Teaching Team!

The teaching team consists of:

@sanderblommaert - Founder of Blommaert Ballet School and former First Artist of the Royal Ballet

@camillebracher - Former First Artist of the Royal Ballet

@benjaminfwella - Former Soloist of the Royal Ballet

@shanimoransimmonds - Current Artist of the Royal Ballet

We are also going to have the amazing @balletschoolphotographer capture all 3 weeks and we are holding mini photoshoots together!

The amazing @balletskirts_by_lucinda and @imperfectpointes will be coming with a pop up shop on the final day of all 3 weeks!
